Default All tables on PS Vita

In the announcement you said that we would be able to play all tables purchased in zen pinball 2 on the vita. What about all the tables that we have already bought. When we update Zen Pinball to Zen Pinball 2 will we be able to take all those tables to the Vita?

So I assume all scores/trophies will transfer over to the Vita version as well? Not like Pinball Arcade where you have to earn trophies twice?

Question! Is that online split screen multiplayer that I see in the video? Will that work online?

If so, then you just make about 15 of my friends happy, because they all want to see how I play.

All of your previous purchases from Zen Pinball and Marvel Pinball will be combined (and updated) in Zen Pinball 2. ALL Zen Pinball tables you have ever purchased, and any you purchase in the future will be playable on PS Vita at no extra charge

Of course not. Everything will remain intact, including trophies. You'll even get some new ones with the update!

Edit: I'm being told this may not be the case now, but I will let you all know as soon as we know for sure. Thanks for being patient and understanding! It is confirmed that there will be additional trophies, however

    This is great news!

So, do we have to earn all trophies from Marvel pinball and Zen pinball 1 all over again or are they just saved and imported to ZP2???

The way it was said in the replies in the PS Blog. The trophies are all new (all new objectives) and the ZP/MP trophy sets won't port over.

    Default Thanks Zen

I just wanted to pop in and say thanks to Zen for investing in this series and in pinball itself. With the real thing hanging on by a thread, (although, if you ever get the chance to play the new Stern AC/DC pinball, I HIGHLY recommend it. It's an amazing table) its nice to see a company believe in it, and then back it with consistent development. I also appreciate the fact that not only did it not obsolete my initial zen pinball 1 investment, I get Zen Pinball 2 free and Zen 1 gets an update. Just an all around thumbs up from me, keep up the good work. Keep making quality table an continue focusing on the customer, and I'll keep giving you money (and evangelize Zen for free :-)

    Thanks zen...

PS Im not affiliated with Stern Pinball

    New as in "new objectives".

As for the other question, they don't have an answer to that one yet.

I’m not 100% sure on this. I’ll try and get back to you the soonest.

Right now we're working on an FAQ/fact sheet that will hopefully answer most of your questions. Just sit tight

The trophy info is indeed most important , on xbox you're able to launch, play, and i suppose unlock achievements for PBFX1 but you can't download it again on xboxlive ... but remember marvel pinball wasn't out at this time.

So if it's the same for zen and zen 2 then you'll have to have the game plus all downloadable content on your console before Zen 2 launches, that's if you want to keep playing and earning trophy on zen pinball 1 and if Zen studios updates ZEN 2 the way they did with PBFX.

What i think they'll do is mix all the games into one keeping the trophy list as it is although adding new ones probably....

Anyway, thanks in advance for the info BarbieBoQ

    Thanks for info!

I read somewhere that the tables will have new, but different trophies. (Not the old ones)

    At last!!!
This is the news I've been waiting to hear for so long!
Also, it's fantastic to see that Zen stick to their early promises of keeping all of our DLC tables and upgrade for free.
This is just one reason why I love this company. They truly care about their customers, something so rare these days...

I'm also tempted to buy a PSV soon just for ZP2.

This summer will be super hot!

    Thank you.

Thanks for your kind words everyone! I submitted the FAQ to the team so they could make sure we covered our bases, and I will post it once it has been approved.

Same. not only that but the other zen tables that were released together (Eldorado, V12, Shaman) Might change my view on theses tables. I got Zen Pinball after Marvel. Wasn't impressed. Tool me a while before I downloaded some of the other tables.

Would have been nice to have the demo option back then. In fact Epic Qiest was the only one I downloaded and then gave in and got Sorcerer's lair, Mars Wasn't disappointed with those. I think MARS's Physics are better than some of the other tables out there.

    Same here.
While I played Zen Pinball (got it a month after the release of MP) alot but not as much as Marvel Pinball, unfortunately I didn't enjoy most it's tables with the exception of SL, Mars and lately EQ.

I can't wait to get my hands on all the old tables and play them with new physics, especially Excalibur since I love the theme and music!

    Probably not!

Ms. Splosion Man is a Microsoft property, so no to that one.

In the PS Blog, someone asked about Rome and Zen said that one is still a M$ exclusive.

I believe the physics are pretty much the same as FX2. It's just the difference between Zen 1 and 2 that make the trailers say its better. I'd like to be proved wrong on that.

i think RapidShark did not mean better physiks as FX2
just the better physiks, as we have in Zen1 Tables

Ah, I was thinking that. Nvm then. I did dust off a 360 to try FX2 and wasn't as impressed with a couple of their exclusives as I wanted to be. Zen2, however, seems to be well worth the wait.

    Talking

shogun00 asked: Question! Is that online split screen multiplayer that I see in the video? Will that work online?

i know its the case for local multiplayer but what about online the Q&A did not quite answer that unless i'm reading it wrong.

what will be the initial cost of zen pinball 2 agian i know our current tables carry over for free but surely initial small cost for zen pinball 2 and the new physics would make sense or is that free as well.

also about the physics yes the normal zen tables need that upgrade i was thinking of the marvel tables having better different physics then the zen ones Sprinkles169 but it seems that even marvel tables will have a slight change in physics and hopefully some tables that are on Pinball FX2 carry over too i don't think haunted mansion, agents, rocky and bullwinkle, Speed Machine, and so on are xbox exclusive, the four tables that come with FX2 and like shogun00 said Ms. Splosion Man would be xbox exclusive unfortunately too bad i like Ms. Splosion Man for some strange reason

i'm hoping that ninja gaiden sigma 2, street fighter 2 and others have better table angles too they seem a bit steep as a factory default, also i would like to see Earth Defense medals carry over when losing a ball i love that table but dang that's frustrating.

Default Got my Playstation 3D display ready....

After playing the 3DS version of Zen Pinball, I've been anticipating the PS3 upgrade. Now that it's been announced, I've purchased the Playstation 3D Display and have a couple pairs of glasses just waiting for this game. So far no 3D games have really connected for me, but for us Pinball fans - this is the reason to upgrade. Really, I can't say enough about how amazing the 3D on the 3DS looks with pinball.

    Can't wait 'til launch.

    Thanks for the upgrade guys.

    Can't wait 'til launch.

    Thanks for the upgrade guys.

And if you have neither Zen or Marvel Pinball? I have only been playing on my ipad because I prefer the platform (I mostly play in bed before I go to sleep). I have been trying to avoid buying tables on ps3 because I rarely play on it and don't want to pay for the same table twice. However, the mobile platform doesn't seem to get the same love as consoles. So it looks like I might have to buy twice, especially if the ios is not getting the zen pinball 2 upgrade. I guess I should also buy the PS3 exclusive tables. What are the exclusive tables for ps3 and xbox? I guess when windows 8 comes out I can most likely get the xbox exclusive tables as well. Any plans on supporting mac OSX? This was a rambling post. I need to go to bed and play some pinball.

Then you'll need to buy the tables. However, you will be able to sample them out first before buying them.

The upgrade is designed to get the PS3 version of Zen Pinball up to snuff. Right now your iOS version is beating the heck out of the PS3 version.

i think xbox players deserve ps3 tables just as much and vice versa i hope zen realise this. i understand it's hard to say no to their money but im more then willing to pay a little extra to keep exclusive out of the loop i hope it does not sound harsh i am merely stating that everyone should enjoy them be it xbox players playstation & nintendo

Will Zen 2 retain the custom soundtrack options and the beautifully designed main menu/table selection screens that Zen 1 and Marvel has, or are they to be replaced by a fugly PS Store style set-up?

No, unfortunately it's a new menu design similar to Pinball FX 2. I agree with you, Zen Pinball and Marvel Pinball has gorgeous menu screens. That's why I won't be deleting them when I have Zen Pinball 2.

Granted Marvel Pinball has a good menu/table selection screen but Zen Pinball is in no way a beauty to cast the eyes on is it. Plus it runs clunky.

Roll on ZP2. Rah' Rah' Rah'.. .

It's better than a boring list, and how is it clunky?

I don't understand what's to complain. IMHO some ZP tables have a better physics than the MP ones, they feel more realistic. Not Epic Quest for sure. That needs an huge tuning. But it's still a great looking table with awesome rules, isn't it?

In an attempt to balance out the exclusive content between ZP2 & FX2 I wouldn't mind seeing some tables based on LocoRoco, Infamous, Dead Nation and Journey.

I'm sure other ZENbies/ZENites can add to the list.

Yeah epic quest is indeed weird as far as physics go but I just love Epic Quest. Simple rules really and easy to get into. What really sells it for me is the charm and the idea of leveling up while playing.

I think Mars has the best Physics for a Zen table IMO. It just feels like a real table although some of the visuals could not be done by modern pinball designers. That said I'm curious how the physics have changed.

Epic quest is the table I play every time I fire up the PS3. Followed by Thor Sorcerer's Lair, Fantastic Four, MARS, Captain America, Iron Man.

    Question Questions

Okay guys/gals I have a question that may come off as if I'm ungrateful, but I assure you that's not the case. First let me say that I LOVE pinball. I'm average at it, but I love it nonetheless! I'm certainly no Hypno, Shogun, StevieJ, Stormtrooper...just to name a few.

Now here my question. Today on the PS3trophies site, I made a mistake by saying that there was going to be 4 extra tables with the ZP2 release. That wasn't my intention. Someone there let me know that it wasn't the case. Here's where my question comes. Also note that I don't know if this question was asked prior to me joining.

Now why is it that when Pinball FX 2 was released, they got tables with their release....but now where Zen Pinball 2 is released, we're only getting the Avengers pack? I don't know if Zen is using the Avengers pack as a staple to promote the "new physics and trophies" that comes with it. PBFX2 also had the achievements and such and it was free for them as well.

I'm not ungrateful in the least bit. I'm just very curious! I also noticed that the tables that came out for the PS3 were released on the Android and 3DS, but the 360 tables weren't. I have every single table on both systems, so there's no bias here. Again, I'm just curious. Can someone please respectfully enlightened me. I know this is a lot to read on. Thank you all!

That was me on PS3trophies You have a good question. I guess they just didn't get around to it(?) They have many other tables in the works, so maybe some of them will be PS3 exclusive, but as for new tables that come with ZP2, no new tables. Perhaps Barbie can shed a little more light on this.

Still would like to see Agents, Buccaneer, Rome etc on the PS3 and vice verse. It would be ashamed for fans of pinball on both platforms to miss-out on some interesting looking tables. I'm not sure it was barbie or whoever but the exclusivity won't lift anytime soon. Sad to say but I would buy day 1.

Yeh it would be nice to see this happen, but of course exculsivity is part of business.

We're a fairly small studio. Here are just a few of the projects we have going on right now:

-Roughly 12 NEW tables from scratch
-Putting existing tables onto new platforms like 3DS, Vita, and other mobile devices
-Making Zen Pinball 2 for both Vita and PS3
    -Making Avengers Chronicles for PSN/Vita/XBLA
-Making 2 non-pinball games for release this year

I think it's safe to say that we're a bit busy

    Question

    Questions:

-Do you include 3 or 4 trophies per table?

-Are there 3 bronzes with 1 silver or 2 bronzes with 1 silver per table? (I didn't like the setting in MP when some tables only had bronzes [Iron Man] and some had the silver one. [Capt. America])

-Do you keep the old Zen pinball music theme from Zp1? It really rocked!

-Is there a "My country" scoreboard that 3DS version has?

-Have you made any major differences with the tables? (New physics not included)

-Is there a table sorting option?

-What kind of tutorials will you add?

    Thanks!

There's no platinum trophies in the game. There's a reason why we get mostly bronze trophies and that's because of the trophy score. Sony gives out a limited number trophy points per game. If they exceed that, then they can no longer release out add-ons with trophies.

Bronze trophies only equals 5 trophy points IIRC, while silver, gold and platinum cost far more points. I believe each game is limited to 2,500 points (counting add-ons), so Zen doesn't have a whole lot of wiggle room, especially if they are going to release out lots of new tables for this platform.

It's the same for the Xbox 360 and its achievements. Microsoft recently reported that they were going to bump up the limit soon.

Edit: If you click the link in my sig. It lists the trophy scores for each game. Zen pinball is already at 915 points and that's with only 12 tables.

wow that sounds incredibly lame but ya your right, so future tables may not have trophies at all

we are really in it for the scores and not trophies, that's how i look at it anyway

No! This is the reason why they use bronze (and sometimes silver) trophies. That way future tables can have trophies.

For example, let's say that they offer 3 trophies per table on ZP2. There will be 26 tables, so that means there will be 78 trophies when the game releases.

If they went with all bronze trophies, which are worth only 5 points per trophy. That will use up 390 trophy points (out of 2,500), that means that Zen will have 2,110 trophy points left over. That's plenty of points to work with for new table add-ons.

Now, if they went with silver and gold trophies on each table (like you're requesting), then they would run out of trophy points in no time.

We will most likely see a few silver trophies and possibly a gold trophy from time to time. However, don't expect to see every table to have them. I'm personally fine with bronze trophies.

All bronze is ok for me too, but Zen should consider which tables they only give bronzes like Iron Man and a silvers like F4 and Capt. America. I think this should go vice versa with these tables.

But after all, they are just trophies.

I don't see nothing wrong with bronzes. However, Ultimo most certainly deserves a silver though. Hahahaha I still haven't beaten him yet, although I've reached him 9 times now. It's a pain to do all of those requirements just for him to drain the balls. I hate that guy! LOL Anyway I'm fine with bronzes!

It appears that I was only partial right on the bronze trophies. It appears that the trophies have different point ranges depending on the difficulty of the trophy. In other words, an easy bronze can be worth 5 points, while a complex bronze can be worth 25 points. Silver and gold trophies have different point ranges.

Just a side note, these points are used to increase your experience bar and level on your PSN profile.

I hope these help out a bit, I can look into the ones I wasn't sure on for you

    Default I Bought A Vita

I saw the announcement for Zen 2 coming hopefully in May and went out and bought a Vita even though there aren't any games out for it yet that interest me. I was getting bored of the four tables on 3DS and my PS3 keeps breaking (Sony Repair sucks) so thought this would be a good solution. Watch 3DS end up getting new tables before Zen 2 comes out. I like both but the 3D really helps with seeing the play field objects and of course depth. Can't wait for both but I hope it's soon, Vita Pinball Arcade is tiding me over, although it's buggy.
Keep up the good work, I love your tables.

I most certainly doubt that. I can almost guarantee that won't happen. 3DS is getting Marvel Pinball amongst other things, but ZP2 and Avengers Chronicles is top priority here.
