  • Youtube / video policies

What is your policy for Youtube videos/Let's Plays/etc? Checked your legal page and blog and did a forum search and I'm not finding anything... For some examples of such policies check out this Reddit thread here. I didn't see you on the list.

Me personally, I never play on monitizing via Youtube Partnership or anything like that; I just want to post some Kickbeat videos and possibly some of my better pinball runs.

Tired of your search engine putting you in a filter bubble or tracking you like other search engines? Then you should try DuckDuckGo!

Feel free to post, monetize, whatever you want! And don't hesitate to share your videos here on the forums, we'd all love to check them out

Any conditions though, like making sure to mention the name of the game, linking where to buy it, etc? Just want a full clarification before I get you added to that list?

I'm also super psyched to be adding my own videos soon!

No conditions (I know, we make it super difficult haha)

I've posted about you in the Reddit thread and the wiki that they're building.

Does that apply to all pinball tables?

What I mean is, would we be able to monetize videos with the star wars tables/marvel tables with the music from the tables?

We don't mind if you do, but I have had people say that the music got muted or their videos got pulled by YouTube.

Lol. This just happened to me today. My Scene 6/Wizard Mode video for my Episode V video guide just got taken down because of the John Williams "The Asteroid Field" music. Youtube gives me the option to remove the music which will probably resolve the copyright infringement claim. Or I can issue a counter notice and claim fair use. I think I have a decent case for fair use seeing as how I am not making any money off the video and the focus is not on the music but rather pinball strategy. But I have no experience with copyright claims as the only videos I have published to youtube are pinball tutorials. Does anyone have any experience with this? Should I try to fight it or just remove the music?

I made a video guide for Episode VI as well and I have feeling I will be getting more takedown notices. If I make another Star Wars tutorial I will try to remember to turn off the music. If I recall correctly I think there are options in the game to turn off the music but keep the sound effects. It's not worth the hassle.

I would just remove the audio track. It would be too much of a hassle to send a counter claim, especially if the music industry is involved with the claim.

Yep! You can just lower the music volume down to zero in the options.
