I’m going to be honest. After looking at the latest screenshots I must say the tables look very generic to me. I hope they play awesome of course but I had to view them in full screen just to separate the two. Isn’t there a little more to tell about them? What makes them special?

I wish you guys would have done a Q&A with the designers (on Twitch?) to get me a little more hyped. Maybe a broadcast with the designers themselves playing. They know where all the cool stuff is hidden and it’s always nice to see a designer play and scr*w up

I see Crofts designed one. I’ve understood it can take up to a year to create a table. When the theme for the table was decided, did he immediately knew what kind of missions/modes he wanted to implement or was it a slow building process (reading up on the comics, etc.) with sparks of inspiration along the way.

Does he have any favorite missions/modes which he thinks turned out particularly well.

Was he influenced by any real life table(-s.)

When did he decide on the table difficulty.

Does the designer always gets to choose the achievements for his table. (Then I know who to thank.)

    Etc.

If not for this pack, I hope you do something like this for future packs. Now it’s like, okay, more Marvel tables, what’s the big deal?

I've forwarded your questions - Crofts should be around at some point today or tomorrow to give a little insight

definitely a bit of a wait since the last table release (aliens 5 months ago...)
kept telling myself that zen is just busy building the playstation vr tables - praying thats true.

watched a gameplay preview of the new woman of power tables, they look fantastic and fun to play.
the champions table has a video mode that is definitely inspired by the video mode in the johnny mnemonic table.

Don't suppose a Don Bluth table set could be made? Dragons Lair, Dragons Lair 2: Time Warp, Space Ace!!

It would be nice to spend a year creating a table, but it's normally much less nowadays, as we become more efficient at making them This will in fact be my fourth table released in the last 16 months (Portal, Bob's Burgers, Aliens and A-Force) so including project overlap time, it's more like 6 months from design start to finish.

The layout and initial design for A-Force was actually done by Deep, so credit is also due to him too for this table When I took over, the story line and main missions had all been pretty much decided (an overview of them at least), and as it was an original table which needed approval by Marvel, there wasn't too much I changed.

On the A-Force table, I think it's most fun if you can start any main mission, and then stack a Helicopter Multiball or Titanium Man Multiball on top of it The Wizard Mode is also pretty cool... when I read the initial design of having Black Widow and Madame Masque shooting at the balls to make the shots, it sounded fairly crazy and I had reservations that it wouldn't work too well - but it ended up being a really fun and interesting feature

Generally our table layouts are influenced by real life tables - particularly the widebody tables, as ours are all also widebody; though there's often toys, miniplayfields, features, etc. which come not only from pinball tables, but other games too. It's always nice to try something new and a bit challenging from a design perspective.

I usually decide the overall difficulty fairly early on, but try to keep options available for making the table a bit easier/harder later on, depending on how things turn out. For instance, having to complete modes or simply start them to progress to Wizard Mode, or how easy it is to activate kickbacks or ballsaves, that sort of stuff.

And finally, yes, the designers always set up the achievements

thanks for the response - love when the game designers post!

question - assuming you are based in budapest -
what is the status of your local pinball community (thriving, nonexistent)?
are there lots of real pinball machines in your city to be inspired by?

                  Okay. Now I'm hyped

It will be fascinating to play a genuine Crofts table build on the foundations of a Deep design.
You both have very distinctive styles imo. You’re usually more restrained so it will be interesting to see how you handled the multi ball/mission stacking. It sounds exciting.

Black Widow & Madame Masque shooting at the balls to make the shots during the Wizard mode also sounds interesting. No comparable mode/mission on a Zen table comes to mind so I guess I'm going to have to sweat to see for myself how crazy "fairly crazy" really is.

I already figured the designers decided upon the achievements, Ypok once apologized to me for Deadpool's 'Combo Hoarder'. I hope you were in a good mood when you decided upon the overall difficulty level of the table and the achievements. Portal was pushing it

The name of the other table designer is not visible on the screenshots but I'm looking forward to playing his table too of course.

Oh, and last but not least. It comes with the job being a fan I guess. I just wanted to say I love your flow tables (X-Men & Droids) and I think Portal is a masterpiece.

                  Thanks for your time &
                  Best from Amsterdam.

                  Btw
From Portal to Bob's Burgers to Aliens to A-Force in just sixteen months. Wow! You must have a very flexible mind.

I'll answer to this, if I may We have 10 machines at the office, and there are pubs as well with several pinball tables nearby. Not to mention the Pinball Gallery of Budapest, where you can find more than 120 pinballs from all the way back of the '50s. I personally play them a lot, once or twice a week. Oh, and I got a Jurassic Park machine at home

                        - I like the machines in the rooms with the vault ceilings.
Glad you guys have lots of pins to play and be inspired by for your designs.

What are the 10 tables in the zen office?
