What's the deal?

First of all, I very much enjoy this site and forums but I must say that one development has really surprised me lately. Only a week ago the active membership of this forum was somewhere around 300 active members. Looking at the total active members tonight there are now well over 1,000 active members. Was there a sign up and get a free trip to the Bahamas deal going on that I missed out on?

In any event, it is a welcome development, to be sure.

ReCaptcha was hacked, and as a result we've had a huge influx of spambots.

Wow, that is not a good development, after all. I'm sorry to hear that. I was actually hoping that with the new XBL tournament and the upcoming release of the two new tables on XBLA that more folks were registering on the forums.

Now looking back that seems just a bit optimistic for such a large increase over so short of time but, nonetheless, I have noticed more human activity recently on the forums.
