Not much of a wizard but I'm enjoying the challenge

I can't say I've played much since 8 Ball Deluxe, Mata Hari, Cleopatra...fresh out of Pong. I guess that dates me Vintage. I'm having a lot of fun with Sorcerer's Lair; I haven't broken 200 pro score on it yet, but have been close a few times. It's a fun forgiving game that my 6yo can break 10m on. I loaded Excaliber and can't say I find it very rewarding, having not broken the 20m after after a day's play; I can't figure out the joust, the game moves soo fast its very hard to read the dot matrix, so most the time I'm just shooting at lights. I must be getting too old; I know my right responds slower than my left, and my left hand can't come close to keeping up with the channel on that side. Anyway that is a wee bit about me and a small rant. I came here hoping to find how to consistently launch the ball in the joust, and glean any other tidbits that might help my play on these really kewl machines.

I can't figure out the joust, the game moves soo fast its very hard to read the dot matrix, so most the time I'm just shooting at lights.

You'll notice that the lights will eventually meet to one of the targets. That's the target that you need to hit.

You will have to do this three times to complete Joust.

Thanks for the welcome! I don't know if its a glitch in programming or my ipod, but I cannot get the ball to launch in the joust with a single tap of the screen, which is too bad as I've been reading rapierdwit's guide on the table and a lot of points can be racked up there. I'm really hooked on this table; I tried Sorcerer's Lair last night and it seemed soooo slooowww. Even though I've won the three achievements the ipod game has, all ten of my scores are basically stuck between 16-18m and all pretty much with one ball, but I'm learning the table; it would sure be nice to start reaching a few of the 10m rewards!

I had a chance at the ios top50 tonight, but came up with only 63m; it did beat my previous high score by 20m. Nothing I'm sure to most, but I'm over 24m on all my top scores. I'm looking forward to losing more of my sudoku puzzle time to Epic Quest sometime this month.
