Thought I'd say hi to all of you guys and gals on this forum. I'm a 57 yrs guy from Denmark. I'm a musician and I love life and all good things in it. Having fun is important to me. What would life be without it? So dumb and dull. Having fun is the main reason for me to play Pinball. I really do not care much about setting a new highscore and I know I'll never get to the top of any list. But if I am having fun playing, all is good.
I stumbled upon Pinball FX2 when I finally got online at Xbox-live. Twas in early january. I downloaded the trial and loved what I saw, so I grabbed a bunch of the tables (14) and played till my fingers and hands were all sore. Sadly up until now I haven't had the time to play as much as I would like to, but that will change from now on. I haven't been active on xbox-live either, but that'll change too. Will post my gamertag in the "Let's add some friends" when I'm all settled in.
I'm not new to pinball. I grew up in the 60' and 70'es and most of the real pinball tables I've played on are from those decades. In the early 90'es I got hold of Pinball Dreams (and the other games in the series) for my Commodore Amiga and I've played most of the pinball games for pc's. I owned and LOVED the PRO Pinball tables on my Sega Dreamcast. Awesome action, simply brilliant. And so now I'm here with my new addiction: Pinball FX2.
First impression was: IT'S TOO FAST!...lol, but even old dogs can learn and I've gotten better at it, although I'm nowhere near any of those scores I've seen. I tried to fiddle with the Operators Menu (to try and slow down the action, mostly), but I'm back to the factory settings now and found out that you get used and addicted to the fast action.
I want to compliment Zen Studios for producing these tables. They are brilliant designed and a real challenge. I am sure that this pinball game will become my favorite video pinball game ever! So far I own 18 of the tables, but I will probably get more. Here's my list of tables:
Nightmare Mansion, Excalibur, Earth Defence, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Buccaneer, Agents, Xtreme, Speed Machine, Sorcerers Lair, Rome, Pasha, Biolab, Secrets of the Deep, Blade, Iron Man, Spiderman, Wolverine AND...Epic Quest!
Of the older tables Agents is my favorite so far and of the newer ones it's probably Sorcerers Lair or Epic Quest. Only got the 2 latter yesterday and I'm sure my favorites will change when I get to play more than has been the case.
I've never been a fan of the Marvel Comics and thus I am not too fond of the theme on those tables, but there's not ONE of them that I do not like playing on. Another thing that I don't like too much is the music. Some of the tables have music that don't fit them at all, like in Speed Machine. But other than that Pinball FX 2 is awesome and I can't wait to dig into them (and to get better) like I want to.
Ooops, I didn't want to write a novel, but I got carried away
.
Have fun out there, I know I will and I can't wait to beat your scores (wishful thinking)
