Vikings Mission 'Homecoming'

So, I just had a question...anyone else find this particular mission overly tough? Even on casual. Upgrades don't seem to help the hero and such it seems. Trying not to give spoilers away, finally beat it, but man!

Btw, if you're considering this game...it's AWESOME and only 800 points!
