Multiplayer Survival - Upgrade Hero Level?

Is there any way to raise the hero level of the player who is playing the hero in the Coop Survival mode?

The player with the castle and the ballista can upgrade everything through the castle/equipment setup, but whenever I play the hero, my level is always 1.

In the same place you upgrade the castle (equipment window) you can upgrade the hero. Under the spells tab there will be the two heroes you need. Upgrade them the same way as you upgrade your castle. When you now start a new multiplayer game your hero is the lvl you upgraded.

Its 1 level for each upgrade.

EDIT: Idea for devs

If any devs read this it would be nice to have the option to have access to the equipement menu when you have selected to be the hero. Maybe even a seperate equipment window that only shows the heroes so you can upgrade them more easily. This would make it easier for people.

This does not work, at least for us. The Castle player upgrades the Hero and we get in and Hero is level 1. If the hero player separately upgrades their hero before joining the game it's still level 1. Buggy and not well thought out. This needs a fixin, because Survival as a level 1 hero is not fun. Not at all. Not even a little bit.
