  • Issues with Samsung Controller in Gear VR

    Hi,

I've purchased CastleStorm for Gear VR today and I like the game so far, but I'm having some issues with the official Samsung controller. No idea if people using other controllers will have the same problem, but I find very difficult to aim because the analog input is too sensitive, but the d-pad sensitivity is so low it takes ages to aim with it. Would be possible to add some kind of "sensitivity slider" to the controller options screen?

    Thanks.

Thanks for your feedback! It takes a little practice to get used to the controls in CS, but I think I know what the issue is here. The analog stick gives the ballista 360 degree control, so instead of pointing it just up and down or side to side, point the analog stick in the direction you want the ballista to fire - for example, when you start up a level, take the analog stick and rotate it in a circle and watch as the ballista follows the same pattern. It's hard to describe in words but I hope that helps!

      Thanks for your reply,

I continued playing a little more after reading your comment, but I guess the analog sticks on my controller suck because I still have a lot of aiming problems (I guess this is the first game where I notice the problem because it's the only one which requires so much precision).

I don't know if there will be a lot of people with the same problem because, in spite of being the official Samsung controller, it doesn't seem to be a very popular choice (probably because of the high price and low availability); but it's a little frustrating for me because the game looks really cool and I'm sure I could have a better aiming if only I could use the d-pad. I'm sure the control scheme made sense from the game design point of view, but not offering an alternative control is making the game almost unplayable for me.

Do you have another controller available to use?
