The final grate seems to be stuck shut (Possible bug?)

Hi,
I solved the final puzzle before the last boss fight and then backtracked to collect any secrets I had previously missed. The final grate was shut upon returning and I think I'm now locked out of the final fight...
The wand mechanism and the button no longer do anything either so I can't try and reset the puzzle to fix it.
