  • FX tables physics

For me, the physics of the tables are completely different to the fx3 tables. The ball has a very slight loftiness to it which is not controllable and the ball invariably always goes out with no effort and considering I'm a pinball wizard with the fx3 tables I'm no novice.

The new Zen tables play much better, however, but those from the fx3 stable, not good. The Williams tables are also much worse for playing.
i'll persevere a little longer I'm hoping the Adams family will be better, if it's not, I'm out from playing the FX tables in going forward.

i wonder if it's the epic platform that's at fault

They have said in the past that the physics are changed compared to fx3. And fx now uses the unreal engine for 3d.

The Legacy Tables in Pinball FX have been remastered with the latest iteration of Pro Physics, which was a much-requested feature in the past years. There shouldn't be a difference in terms of physics between the new Zen Originals and the remastered tables. Could I ask with which table you experience this? Thanks in advance!

        Hi linne
i own all the tables on fx3. The only tables that play well on the fx platform are the new ones from Zen, and that's all. As I say to me, the graphics are worse, the ball for instance is not a solid chrome but washed out. The ball plays not as fast because of the lightness of the ball, this is because the ball has a tendency to float
        my computer
Specification is new with a 3.7 AMD chip 16 GB ram 4 GB graphic card running Windows 10 and 11
sorry i can't be more help

i have been looking into how the fx tables play so badly for me and to be honest i'm no further forward. The physics for example on wild west rampage when the ball drains at the back and then re-enters the right side of the playfield misses the top right-hand flipper and always can be hit by the flipper on the fx3 table which in turn makes the loop. The ball is also much slower on the fx tables

i know this is only one example, but all tables on the fx platform have physics faults that shouldn't be there.
Also, i lose all 3 balls in around 1 minute and on the fx3 tables i'm always in the top 125 players in the weekly match up, so for me the fx tables in reality are unplayable

i will try to upload to my YouTube channel what i mean with regard to the physics of both fx3 and the fx tables and link back here for others to look at

In Pinball FX, we implemented the latest iteration of Pro Phisycs on every table, which was a much-requested feature. I am really sorry that you experience this, your request has been forwarded to our "physics master" at Zen. Could I ask what do you think about the pro mode of Williams tables?

                Hi linne
the Williams tables are playing a little better at this time. Has someone in your end tweaked them?
A little bit about myself. I'm a Microsoft independent.
                MVP/ Reconnect adviser
since 2006. Microsoft would hold my view in high regard over others when coming to the crunch on a particular matter.

Like most things, everyone has their own way of looking at something. My role is to highlight a concern and try to get it the way I feel it should be. As I say, it's just my vision of the tables.

At the end of the day, Zen will need to go forward with the majority of their customers and disregard my views or take my side and stick to the basic FX3 platform and in reality it's as simple as that

back in 2007/8 when Windows vista came out, it didn't perform well for many but was working well for myself.

Why? For that, you need to understand how people use their computers. i was in the main computer forums since 2000 so i know how people think and that can be very different to how Microsoft saw it.

At that time, the spec for Windows vista was 2 GB but with the majority of people downloading software their ram would crash on the monthly security updates and the computer unable to reboot. i explained to Microsoft at our yearly conference what was going on and that the ram spec should have been 4 GB, but the damage was done, the vista operating system was finished.

i myself had a custom computer from acer with 6 GB of ram, so of course vista run extremely well for me
                so that's my role
at the end of the day, and that's to just highlight any potential shortcomings
