  • Audio balance Issues- PS5

I'll start off by saying this was actually an issue on pinball fx3 and was hoping this would be resolved on the new engine. The issue is that there isn't consistency or clarity in some cases on what controls certain volumes in each table individually. For example when playing pasha the announcer voice is very loud compared to other sounds of the table, music, sound effects, etc. Furthermore there doesn't seem to be a clear understanding on which one of those volume levels would turn down the announcers voice. Now I wouldn't have to worry about this detail if the tables all had a consistent volume level matching between them. I am running through a receiver in 5.1 surround and the voices do come out of my Center channel. But again some tables it's kind of well balanced but others it isn't. Please invest some time in more clearly breaking down the audio level adjustments and allow it to be saved per table. That way, even though it would be nice, you don't need to worry as much about auto level balancing.

Big time noticeable. I'm hoping they can balance this out eventually too.

Very True !!! The weird volume balance between tables is really pronounced and on some the voice banter and/or music is either way too loud or too soft. I am on xbox.

This forces the player to constantly have to adjust volumes from table to table and it has become a tedious task. I have a surround system and also use Atmos headphones, problem is in both.

Zen studios, please get your sound engineer guy to balance all the volumes for each table to the same levels. Then we can set our preferences once and no need to constantly adjust to individual preference.

I am on Xbox Series S and just posted this issue in the main bug thread.

Glad I am not the only one having my hearing destroyed, and it seems like a problem with all console versions of the game.

Grimm Tales, Borderlands Vault Hunter and The Machine: Bride of PinBot all have awful distortion from too loud voice audio. Hoping that Zen will do something to fix the issue.

I've also noticed the very unbalanced sound. As TC mentioned, it's quite frustrating and not really convenient to fiddle around with vaguely titled audio settings every time you switch a table. I really like Grimm tales but that witch's voice is much too loud. Same with Charlie Brown's scream on the snoopy table.

They do this to keep you on your toes, that’s all. Lucy on CB screams way too loud. Agreed. And Grimm tales the witch is both too loud and too soft once you go try to make it softer. Not that you need her saying, shoot right ramp 50 times. Also on Grimm I can’t get the upper flipper shots to work, but that has to be a skill issue

Yeah I understand what you're saying I used to work in an arcade and we used to have to fight the different games in pinball machines from overwhelming each other due to their intense volume level changes which I know they do on purpose like you said. But we don't really need to live in the world of the competing sound effects in the emotion on that extreme of a level. But if they give us better clarification in the ability to adjust them ourselves at home then everybody can make the experience how they want. In other words they already have an option screen with a selection of different things that you can adjust the volume for which embraces this thought process but yet it doesn't seem very controllable and it doesn't seem very consistent.

Thank you very much for pointing this out, I have also noticed similar behaviour to this when I streamed the game. A report has been sent to the developers, who are investigating the situation. Hopefully, they will be able to fix this soon!
