Furious over this new release!!!

I am a very long time fan of your Pinball FX series and have been around since the start on the old XBLA days. I have purchased tons of tables and have upgraded over the years. This newest version of Pinball FX has me completely done with this series and with Zen all together!!

First off, I purchased tons of tables for Pinball FX 1 (XBLA version, the OG), then made the jump to Pinball FX 2. During that time, I bought tons of tables here and there when I could. Then Pinball FX 3 released and I remember there was a big thing early on about importing tables then too. I actually ended up having to re-buy a bunch of tables because I had originally bought them as single tables and then during Pinball FX 3, you could only download tables if you purchased the packs. I was pretty mad then, but I ended up buying those tables, mind you, for a second damn time! Now, with the release of Pinball FX (Really, no 4?!?!) and now you are telling me that tables I have purchased, and in many cases, bought TWICE, I have to buy yet again???

I have been playing Pinball FX exclusively now when it comes to digital pinball games and I have a huge list of friends I've acquired over the years from different forums from around the internet. Pinball FX3 alone I had over 100 players on my list of people I'd play against for High Scores and online matches. I've already seen countless friends review the game on Xbox and it seems we are all in the same boat and refuse to re-buy back into this game. The Xbox reviews are all pretty bad, with a mass majority of them being 1 out of 5 stars. I honestly wish I could have ranked it 0 out of 5 because this is total BS! I can load up FX 3 and see I have 113 people on some of the more popular tables on it, then I load up this new FX.... 2 people. WOW! You lost over 100 players just that I know of.... how many others didn't make this jump as well? (From the sound of it, MANY!)

I have lost ALL respect for your company! I will NOT buy any products Zen puts out after this! I seriously hope your studio folds from this greedy move and that everyone at Zen loses their jobs over this mess. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.... but there will NOT be a third time and I am putting my foot down!

Wow that was pretty harsh mate ! Maybe they could have offered a discounted rate for people like you ? I don't know, however Zen is a business and have to charge for their products so giving totally free upgrades for a new version would make no sense and likely bankrupt them.

I am playing on X series X and had few tables in FX2 & 3 so I cannot agree there is no difference because there obviously is and it looks beautiful and plays smoothly plus there is many new tables that are awesome to play.

If you just buy few tables in bundles they are pretty fairly priced and worth the asking price imho. Hopefully down the line there are some nice discounts.

I hope you might think some more about this because small studio game devs like these guys work long hours and are not millionaires so calling them greedy is ill conceived. I think they are just regular people trying to make a living while creating a cool pinball game. But hey if you need to rage then I guess whatever anyone says will make no difference !

FX feels a lot different from FX3, and looks much better as well. Of course it is not perfect, but what is?
They made a move from their own legacy engine to Unreal, so it wasn't a matter for them to just import the tables. As far as we know, they had to rebuild from scratch, why would they give them away for free?

Of course as a PC player who bought into EA i can speak easy, because while i re-purchased the few tables i had for FX3, they also gave us tables to "complete the packages" as we couldn't buy individual tables anymore upon 1.0 release and packs have been introduced. Either way, what the person in the other reply said, i believe as well:

Zen are just regular people trying to make a living while creating a fantastic pinball game.. It would be nice if you directed your hate elsewhere, there's enough global corps to hate on out there.
