  • Pinball FX 2 VR is super buggy and glitchy

Just got my CV1 yesterday, and FX2 VR was my first game purchase. Unfortunately it is very buggy and basically unplayable much of the time. I get a constant stream of screen glitches while in game, including while I'm playing a machine, and while I'm not. I've tried different visual settings/resolutions in the game, and it hasn't helped. Here are my system specs:

    GTX 980 Ti
    i5 6600k overclocked to 4.4 ghz
    16 gb RAM
    Game installed on SSD

Please help. I really want to play this game!

Do you have the latest video drivers installed?

Are the glitches also visible on the 2D gameplay window on the normal display? If so, can you send or post a couple of screenshots? You can send them directly to me at support at zenstudios dot com

Thanks for the quick response. I am unfortunately at work at the moment so I won't be able to get any screen shots for you until later. I'm not sure if the glitches are showing up on my monitor, I'll check on that later as well. I do have the latest nvidia driver installed.

No worries, send whenever you get a moment I also see that you already sent this report via email as well, so feel free to post here or reply via email - whichever is easiest for you.

I am only seeing the glitchy artifacts in the Rift, and not on my monitor. Also, FYI, I'm on Windows 10 64 bit.

It turns out there is an ongoing issue with 980 Ti cards:

Does it help if you use a different HDMI port?

The 980 ti I have, the Gigabyte G1 Gaming, only has 1 hdmi port, and 3 DisplayPorts. In your link, the problem turned out to be the front port on the 980ti VR version. Their back hdmi port ended up working fine.

I know for a fact this problem is not my card. I have tried a bunch of VR games and experiences on the CV1, and FX2 VR is literally the ONLY one I've had any problems with at all. Everything else has run totally perfectly.

It's such a fun game I would love to be able to get this fixed so I'm getting the best experience possible. I can also tell you that the problem is most pronounced in the mansion area before getting into a game, but it happens while playing a game as well.

Thanks for clarifying, the team will keep investigating this one

Thanks for investigating this. In spite of some visual weirdness, I'm loving the game. I love pinball but am unable to get out to play on real machines ever. This game looks and feels awesome!
