For the best part the older tables had three achievements on the 360... one easy, one medium and one difficult. Would have been best IMO if they just went with the medium difficulty achievement for all the tables because yeah some are far too easy (the likes of Wolverine one your gonna get within minutes of your very first playthrough) and some basically are asking you to beat the table all for just 10GS. Heck some newer players will not even understand HOW they are meant to get The Avengers achievement... to get it you need to use a technique generally only generally used by advanced/experienced players of the game instead of something which is actually associated with the table its unlocked on instead.
Still what i really wanna know is why did Zen have to torment me with picking the most unobtainable "easy" one for me in that god damned Ghost in the mansion effort for Paranormal? I never got that, not even once in all my time with this series on the 360 and i get the feeling it will be the same with the Xbox One version as well haha.
Still im having a blast trying to get some of these... its harder for me as i bounce from one table to another because ive so many to get back into the swing of and trying to just get close to some of my older scores is already taking all my time never mind chasing achievement requirements. There is a good few i need to unlock which i already did back in the day on 360 version but on that version when the table came out new i played it exclusively for a good week or so... no i play a game or two then move on to the next one, im like a kid in a sweetie shop all over again.

Looking for some rationale for these Achievements

I don't think there is any rationale to the achievements. Looks like a monkey just pulled them out of a hat.
I was hoping at least for a return to the xbox 360 days of 3 achievements per table.
If 1 or 2 achievements per table really is the new norm then zen should look at what Farsight do with standard and wizard goals - that's quite a nice system and also serves as a sort of tutorial.
Copied from one of my earlier posts:
My understanding is that base games on Xbox One are required to have a 1000 gamerscore. Our base game is a storefront with optional DLC, with just one free table included in the base game. We had to give Sorcerer's Lair enough achievements to fill up that requirement. DLC is a different story. On 360, we originally started out with multiple achievements per table, and hit our maximum a few tables ago, so the last couple of tables haven't even gotten achievements. I don't know if there is a limit for Xbox One, but I'm assuming that's why we're taking it slow with 1-2 per table this time. (I'll update when I get an official answer on max achievements on One).Leave a comment:

I'm perfectly clear on the fact that all games have 1000G. But in some other thread (See Below) I had suggested that they could have had numerous achievements that were not table-specific to make up the bulk of the 1000G, rather than dumping the whole amount onto the Sorcerer's Lair table, giving it more than double the Gamerscore of all currently-available DLC tables combined. I even included examples. Examples which I spent no more time thinking of than the amount of time I spent typing that post. Certainly an amount of time they could have afforded during the development to come up with some other way of doing things. Yet they didn't. And that's where I would have liked some of their insight.

You asked for insight into that decision just the same, so I gave you it.

It's Microsoft policy, every game on the store must ship with 1000GS, so Sorcerer's Lair gets that, and the other tables only get one or two Achievements, like Deadpool has two for example.
Don't like it? Take it up with M$, not Zen, it's not their fault, and their hands are tied.

I am curious as to why the Achievements are they way that they are, and I'm sure I'm not the only one here who would like to hear Zen's rationale for doing things this way. I'm not going to bring up Sorcerer's Lair here - I feel that would just be repeating an existing thread - but I would love any insight into that decision just the same. Here I am more interested in why all of the other tables (with one exception) have a single Achievement for 10 Gamerscore. More importantly, why there is such disproportionate difficulty from one table's Achievement to the next. For example, Captain America's "The Cosmic Cube," Infinity Gauntlet's "Surfin' In Space," and Mars' "Shuttle Pilot" are among some of the easier Achievements to unlock, whereas World War Hulk's "Hulk's Revenge" and Thor's "Enemies of Asgard" require considerably more effort simply to meet the conditions required of the Achievement. To clarify, my issue isn't that some of the Achievements are more difficult than others to unlock, but rather, given their varied degrees of difficulty, 10G may be an appropriate reward for some, but certainly not all of them. Furthermore, is this trend something we should expect to continue for all future tables, or is this something that only exists for the tables which were available at launch?Leave a comment:
