Well done Peglegp! I really appreciate your achievement centric overall view of all that is Pinball FX2! I have always set myself three goals in the following order: Wizard mode, Achievements and top 20 score (billion+ for most tables) but I detest grinding for scores and as such will never get anywhere in tournaments - that is unless zen finally change tournaments to a time/ball limited format as has been discussed over the years. Most tables main achievement is for getting wizard mode, so on a table such as Dr. Strange you'll get a similar challenge (and sense of achievement) if you beat the wizard mode without going for score.
Now, tournaments are time limited... just may be too large, though there is a ton of options to change. A format such as 24 hours would be more of an event that one needs to be sure not to miss and would be more thrilling due to limited time; better and certain prizes also motivate. It seems for a ball limited format, some modifications to the tables would be necessary to support tournament functionality...of course if you go there, then support for custom tournament achievements would be awesome as well, such as bonuses for getting them or using them for tourney advancement qualification as opposed to scores ... though it seems any good tournament strategy will focus on rewarding participation in general.
Thanks for the suggestions -Doctor Strange next and wizard modes on others.
I will always remember this game... the achievements are appropriately challenging. I now have all 100 achievements on the XBOX 360 version, but it took me awhile. Bombardment was first: 10/28/2010, Somewhat Indigestible was last: 01/18/2014. None of my scores are very high. I have played towards achievements and have had a great time doing mainly that. Grinding out a high score is too repetitive for my hands and mind, it has little appeal. I enjoy unlocking nifty behaviors/scenarios on pinball tables, and the achievements did a supernatural job of tracking the majority of these.
Achievement comments:
-Suspenseful music often made me nervous: I had sound turned off when I got Thor, Iron Man, and Boba Fett 30-point cheevos.
My favorite Tables:
-Fantastic Four: best table over all, natural progression, and just-right difficulty
-X-MEN: most underrated table, gets so much better over time
-Sorcerer's Lair: best beginner's table, visual treat, and rocks a spooky theme
-Infinity Gauntlet,Star Wars Episode V, Star Wars: Episode VI: so many things to unlock and so very beautiful
-Nightmare Mansion - made my Halloween one year
-Iron Man: best hard table is truly a legend now of Videogame lore
-Pasha: best table of Core Collection
-Blade, Moon Knight: also great Marvel tables, mega-fun
Tidbits:
-After finally getting 3-Ball Wizard (X-MEN), I knew I could get any other cheevo.
-Xbox Live for some reason doesn't show Surfin' in Space (Infinity Gauntlet) achieved, but shows up on my console as achieved under achievements.
-Best achievement week involved beating Ultimo and Dracula two days apart, then finding Ancient Martian Map 3 days after that
-I like split-screen feature and in-game visual guides, love the artwork on the tables' home screens
-Haven't tried Doctor Strange much ... probably since no cheevo offered
-Thank goodness for these forums and ShoryukenToTheChin's guides
-Glad this game is on Steam, too
-Thank you Zen Studios for doing pinball justice - this game is amazing.

Achievement comments:
-Difficulty Just Right for 30-pointers on: Fantastic Four, Moon Knight, Boba Fett, Epic Quest, Captain America
-3-Ball Wizard(X-MEN): only achievement I didn't believe would come naturally with practice
-Suspenseful music often made me nervous: I had sound turned off when I got Thor, Iron Man, and Boba Fett 30-point cheevos.
-Ancient Martian Map (Mars): each attempt took a very long time and not that much seemed to be going on
-Needed Internet research to figure out these achievements:
Talented Fighter (Street Figther), Adamantium Skeleton (Wolverine), Heroes Imprisoned (Civil War),Rookie Pilot (StarFighter Assault), Story Teller (Pasha), Lord of the Undead (Blade), Legend (Excalibur),Legatus Legionis (Rome)
-Have no idea what I did to obtain these achievements:
Counterfeit Box Tops (Rocky & Bullwinkle), Abyss (Secrets of the Deep),You are Almighty (Ms. Splosion Man), You Have Mail (Plants Vs Zombies),all Zen Classics cheevos
-The achievement art is appreciated - some make great avatars!
-Table shake helped - tapping left stick up when ball rolling down a flipper - to get it to the other side, same for saving the ball

Tidbits:
-After finally getting 3-Ball Wizard (X-MEN), I knew I could get any other cheevo.
-Clever Fighter (Spiderman cheevo) was my longest fruitless cheevo pursuit for some reason
-True Achievements got hosed for me a couple years ago after License Transfer from failing XBox, hasn't recognized new cheevos for any of my games for a long time.
-Xbox Live for some reason doesn't show Surfin' in Space (Infinity Gauntlet) achieved, but shows up on my console as achieved under achievements.
-Best achievement week involved beating Ultimo and Dracula two days apart, then finding Ancient Martian Map 3 days after that
-I wish the black/white/fire background at the Pinball FX2 store was in some downloadable theme for Pinball FX2, and achievement icons were available as gamer pics
-Favorite piece of art is villain images on Moon Knight playfield: size, purpose, placement, color, lighting, detail all perfect to me

Just got the last Star Wars: Battle The Force Achievement.
Anyone else on 100% achievements?
Not so far
I'm 98/100
But I have some problem with the 2 last tables. For the Jabba's one (first package) no, it's all by me, but for the Luke Skywalker table i'm sure I Had the achievement unlock but not for the game
In the same way the others 2 achievement of the last Star Wars pack are not correctly shown in xbox.com, but correctly in my dash and on raptr.

Nice one! I'm pretty far away from my Xbox until next year so my attempt at getting the achievements for the new tables will have to wait till then. At least I can get a feel for the tables on PC in the meanwhile.
aye got them as well, got boba fett one on 3rd game lost alot of balls first 2 games learning some shots, one of the easier wizard modes achievements but still fun to see one, has been a while. took about 2 hours to get all 3 in the pack?
Congrats, although I swear I missed parts of the wizard mode, do you have to remember the specifics of the wizard mode?

It took me close on two years and at least one year of that was really trying to get a Billion on blade. I first started with trying to get 100mil on each table, then I went for achievements, then wizard modes and then I started going for Billions on as many tables as possible. Around the time of Ms. Splosion Man and Sorcerer's Lair I was trying to get the number one scores for those tables but that is just too much hard work and it becomes really ridiculous! Anyways... around a Billion seems like a reasonable score to get on a table if the scoring allows it - its sets a nice challenge, you have to play pretty long but you avoid getting into a rinse repeat pattern e.g. Wolverine to get the really super high scores and now I can play other games as well without always feeling like there is something I need to achieve still on FX 2.
A billion for each??? Uhm... First maybe 100 Millions for each
I have billions in few table, but not so many. The strange is that, for example, in the pinball FX 1 in agents i Had more than 1 Billion, now i can't reach 100 M
Keep trying anyway... And, OK, now I have Halo 4 to play but... When the new table will arrives?
