    Just get em all
    Pbfx2 tables that is
The only pbx1 tables I find worth a damn are excalibur and nightmare mansion. Some of them(extreme and r and b) are almost like a different game
All the pbfx2 tables are really fun and deep(and look nice), and looking at the price to gameplay ratio you cant go wrong.

I know I'm too late to advise, but even being a huge (and I mean, STUPID HUGE) Marvelite I would stil recommend the core over the Marvel pack for beginners; Spider-Man is friendly, but wolvie can be speedy for new-comers and Iron Man frustrates me to this day (I insist on trying the SHIELD multi-ball even though I know how dangerous it is....).

If I may recommend secondary tables, I hope you got Paranormal while it was free; this and Sorceror's Lair are my favorite casual tables. For older tables I really love Excalibur (which can also be a bit speedy, but fun) and Earth Def (which is kinda hard because its so looong, but I love the giant robot)

That's what did it for me. I started with the Core Pack and eventually (and happily) bought all the rest of the tables!

I ended up getting the core pack last night. I played just a bit with all the tables...really like Pasha and Biolab. I'm a big fan of what Farsight did with the williams collection -- the more of this stuff the merrier...probably only a matter of time before i have them all.

I am going to say Marvel first sorry :\...

Spider-man is a great *newbie-friendly* table with lots of flashing lights and scoring opportunities. Then you have three challenging tables to really hone your skills on; Iron-man for a straight up learning to shoot angles; and wolverine and blade to understand slightly harder / more complicated tables.

In the Core pack I only really like Pasha personally.

Rome is way too punishing for newbies and Secrets of the Deep really doesn't have much to do unless you know the rules well...

    Biolab is fun though.

It's better to start with Core pack. Marvel pack has some harder tables.

Yep, core pack is probably the best set of tables available.

And Core pack is designed specifically for Pinball FX 2 : it takes advantage of the better graphics engine.

Core pack, without any hesitation. 4 masterpieces, go for it.

I would say Core as well. Great starter pack to introduce the game of pinball Zen-style.

started a topic Core pack vs Marvel pack

    Core pack vs Marvel pack

Looking to get into Zen and I have no attachement to comic charcaters. Am I better off with starting with the core pack or the marvel pack? I'm reluctant to get both right away because I like to learn the tables a bit instead of having table ADD. Thanks.
