Why can't people just be happy we're getting more pinball? I mean, sure, voice your concerns and hope Zen addresses them in future releases. But bashing tables and saying "I probably won't buy that one" while things are still in the development stage is simply silly. Wait til release, play the demo/watch some YouTube videos, if you still don't like it, complain about it on the forums.

At least give Zen some credit for actually caring enough to keep releasing video pinball for us. Now that they're growing in both popularity and business, they could easily just say "ok what's next?" and completely forego continuing to make pinball. Be happy they know their fans want more, and they still have a passion for making quality tables.

I've said it in another thread but: The theme is only a portion of the table. I'll buy a Rainbow Bright table if the game-play is fun.

Because many of us were already tired of Marvel.

Come May/June, out of the nineteen post launch tables, fourteen of them will be Marvel properties (74%). The article mentions two more are in development, as well as three other franchise tables. By comparison, only two of the six DLC tables for Pinball FX were based on pop culture IPs (R&B and SFII).

Pinball FX 2 is turning into the 360 portal for Marvel Pinball.

But bashing tables and saying "I probably won't buy that one" while things are still in the development stage is simply silly. Wait til release, play the demo/watch some YouTube videos, if you still don't like it, complain about it on the forums.
According to Zen, it takes eight months to develop a table. Tack on the 4-8 week XLBA certification process, and it's the better part of a year for a table to go from concept to gold. While the opinions of a few dozen pinball geeks have an insignificant effect on the end product, the time to voice concern is during the development process.

Now that Pinball FX 3 has been unofficially announced, FX 2 has a limited lifespan. If Zen release it with the next Xbox in order to maximize sales (November 2013?), that means we probably won't get many more tables after the Avengers Chronicles and the other five hinted at in the article. Excalibur, the last Pinball FX table, was released nine months before the launch of Pinball FX 2.

At least give Zen some credit for actually caring enough to keep releasing video pinball for us.
I give them credit for giving a damn about the community as well as keeping the cost of new content low. However, I'd rather pay twice the price for bug free tables with unique layouts based on original ideas. Quality over quantity.

Now that they're growing in both popularity and business, they could easily just say "ok what's next?" and completely forego continuing to make pinball.
That would be idiotic. They've spent years developing their pinball engine, building a fanbase, and acquiring IPs. Why throw it away when they're beginning to rake in the cash with so many franchise tables?

The theme is only a portion of the table. I'll buy a Rainbow Bright table if the game-play is fun.
I guess that explains why we're all such fans of Xtreme. It's a clone of an innovative, successful table designed by an industry legend. All Zen had to do was mirror the playfield and dip it in a fotie of wiggah juice to create an audio visual feast we simply CAN'T STOP playing.
        They took our pinball machines!
        Let's revolt, who's with me?
Grab a pitchfork and come with Zen!

Im unsure if have Marvel fatigue or just generally with FX2.

I haven’t even played Epic Quest yet. The thought of another table coming out is just …uninspiring.

The only thing that would get my juices going again is a title update with new game modes like a time attack or 1 ball game.

Make this game an intense experience again. A short, sharp arcade game.
Take inspiration from Geometry Wars 2 which has modes which last just a few minutes.

Geometry Wars 2 was an excellent game heck I wished for that to become a Pinball Theme but that dev went bust didn't they?

On topic doh, Everyone is going to have his/her opinion its just subjective and they should be allowed to express that. Yes some people may not like that Marvel themes seem to be the norm but others absolutely love the Marvel license, so who is wrong? the answer is none of you.

We should just be happy that more Tables are coming and reserve gameplay judgement till we see that Tables in action and get to play them for ourselves, hopefully on Friday will see some of that action.

                Really... no Marvel fans left?

I'm hip, guys. I appreciate the fact that after two four packs and two standalones the whole "Marvel" thing is getting to be lack-luster to all of you who don't have an appreciation for Marvel Comics.

I do, and the whole reason I first got in on FX2 was the original Marvel tables. I also remember the excitement and lauds for v & v. So now Gameinformer lets us in on WAY more info at one time than we get on these forums... and the vast majority of you have so many negative things to say? Everything from Zen not having enough people working on the project to just general dissing of the Marvel Universe. How many threads are there where we have all repeatedly repeated our top fave list of Marvel properties? And now that Zen pipes up and tells us which ones we're getting, it is nothing but fuel for complaints?

By the by, for the Marvel dissers, the Marvel Universe is the most cohesive and entertaining comic-book universe there is. The crossovers are hit or miss depeding on whoever your favorite character is and how well that character was written during said event. I personally loved all the crossovers that are getting tables (ok, house of M isn't my fave, but its better than anything I've read from DC since about the early 80s). If you don't dig on comics than you don't dig on comics, why even try dissing them if you don't read or have any interest in them [ie. The two biggest over used characters are certainly Spider-Man and Wolverine, not Cap and Thor].

Sorry to gripe about griping... just really surprised so few positive statements, I was drooling into the article as I read it last night. Seeing how the table goes from "first playable" to "beta" was neat, and hearing the changes made to WWHulk during this process was rare openness we never get in here.

Oh, and Dr. Strange and Civil War, AWESOME!!!!

Don't hate on Rainbow Brite! LOL

I agree 100%. My favorite table by far is the Ms. Splosion Man table, but it is also the most annoying to me... I have to play with it muted, it drives me nuts. The colors are INSANE, but it is such a fun table that none of that matters to me. The bottom line: I could play this table every day if I had time. As far as theme is concerned, they don't make or break a table for me. I want more than anything to see a BattleStar Gallactica table, but if we did make one, and it wasn't fun or if it was too hard for me (I'll admit, I'm pretty terrible at pinball haha) I doubt I would play it much just because I'm so in love with the theme. I guess what I'm really trying to say is that for me, a theme can be a nice touch to a game I already love or an annoyance I can deal with. I think that most of you will be pleasantly surprised by this next pack of Marvel tables. And even if you hate them, there will always be more tables! We have some HUGE news to share with you this year, I can't wait!

Im looking forward to the Dr. Strange table, my biggest complaint with PFX2 is the crazy number of extra balls that is now becoming the norm on a lot of ZEN'S tables, having 15 or more balls on some tables just makes the table/game too long, Im actually looking more and more forward to Farsights tables and get back (hopefully) to more realistic pinball.
Having said that i will continue to buy and support ZEN'S tables.

                          Civil War

                          Zen, please please please...

The event at Stamford leading up to the superhero Civil War was a major tragedy (in the Marvel Universe).
Please treat this as a solemn event; something to reflect on somberly. It was so bad it shattered the Marvel Universe, giving Marvel its first real reality check. It was such a travesty that a hero (Speedball; later Penance to deal with this tragedy) trying to stop the culprit (a douche named Nitro) who commited the atrocity was in the end blamed for the deaths and sentenced to serious time in a place that can only be described as purgatory (thanks, Reed, ya jerk). Biggest part of the tragedy involved the Stamford Elementary school.

Please keep this in mind when making a "Stamford Multiball," which for some reason just strikes me as the wrong way to pay a tribute to the fallen; give the event the sense of trauma that it deserves.

btw: still need to pay for some war crimes there, Stark (ya jerk)

If your a real Marvel fan surely you would like to see some new characters being used.

Theres hundreds to choose from I could run twenty off in my head right now that I would like to see in a table but yet we get Iron Man, Captain America...Thor...and Thing trumping up again for another outing. I mean who likes Thor? He went out with the arc. (sic)

I will add I am looking forward to Dr Strange you get a cookie for that one.

And there's a lot more than just Marvel and DC out there. I found Kurt Busiek's "Astro City" series (to name just one) much more interesting and well written than anything I've seen from Marvel or DC.

No one wants to buy a GLA table (a cookie to anyone who remembers them). They went with what people knew... marvel icons. For us 'fan boys' we got one obscure person per set, ie. Blade and Moon Knight.

I do want to give kudos for wolverine only popping up in two tables so far, considering he and Spider-Man have been a part of everything under the Marvel sun. But I'm not following on how the 'movie' avengers (ie. cap, thor, iron man) and Thing are being drug out "... for another outing." Where are they appearing that is getting on everyone's nerves? Sure the crossover tables may have them, but the crossover tables are going to have a LOT of other people too, especially the Infinity Gauntlet table.

.... ok, i do admit that I don't care for Thor comics, but after what happened in Fear I don't think that's a problem anymore.....
