Game Informer Scanned Photos (reposted from Marvel Pinball forum)
And there's a lot more than just Marvel and DC out there. I found Kurt Busiek's "Astro City" series (to name just one) much more interesting and well written than anything I've seen from Marvel or DC.
I do admit that I am an unabashed Marvelite. I am entirely biased and will name anything under the Marvel sun as being superior in every way. Kind of my one rational hang-up, but hey, I'll admit that its opinion. I do have non-Marvel faves... but those I'll NEVER admit
I'm a huge Marvel fan and wouldn't have tried out about Pinball FX2, if I wouldn't have been curious about how the comic franchise translates to the Pinball experience.
So, more Marvel tables are good news for me and I'm really looking forward to see how some of the Marvel events play out on PFX2.
However, I also understand people, who aren't big Marvel fans being disappointed by the amount of Marvel tables in comparism to original designs.
I'm peronally not a big fan of the CSI franchise and imagine that there was a four pack of the LV, NY and Miami franchises, then again one for each of the teamleaders, like Grissom and others on the horizon featuring specific episodes or focusing on side characters.
If they would be well done, I would play them, but I would hope for some diversity as well.
I think basically Zen made a deal with Marvel and the decision to have Marvel Pinball as a standalone title on the PS3 complicates the situation. On the X-Box every new table is a FX2 table, but on the PS3 each table has to be either Marvel or Zen.
And I guess Marvel also likes to see a few things promoted, like the Avengers movie f.e.
All in all, eventhough I would gladly have 20 more new Marvel tables, I hope that the balance of the new releases will be a bit more diverse, than it is at the moment.
As far as theme is concerned, they don't make or break a table for me. I want more than anything to see a BattleStar Gallactica table
My wife loved your comment! She now wants a "My Little Pony" table!!!
As for there mere mention of Battlestar Galactica, Kudos! However being old school, it would have to be the original with the John Dykstra effects. Not the newer garbage they passed off as Galactica.
That would be like doing a Go-Bots table over the G1 Transformers! Yikes!
I'm 99% sure there will never be a Pinball FX 2.5. If Zen had kept up with this idea, then that would've been released for at least 1 year, now they're clearly heading directly to PFX 3. It's not that much a surprise, at least retrospectively, considering it was very long ago when Zen told us about PFX 2.5, and when we saw nothing coming, we could've guessed so.

I'd love to see a retro Battlestar table.
One feature that would make an Old School BS:G table even better is if they do what Stern did with the Transformers Pinball table where you can select which side you want to play as. Good guys or Bad guys. Burn Galactica, Burn! Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar! TURN YOU FOOL!
Im unsure if have Marvel fatigue or just generally with FX2.
I haven’t even played Epic Quest yet. The thought of another table coming out is just …uninspiring.
The only thing that would get my juices going again is a title update with new game modes like a time attack or 1 ball game.
Make this game an intense experience again. A short, sharp arcade game.
Take inspiration from Geometry Wars 2 which has modes which last just a few minutes.
I think you'll like Pinball FX3. We're going to give you a lot of ways to play and things to accomplish other than "play long games over and over again for high scores." After a while, it's such a Herculean task to get a new high score that the feeling of reward becomes too rare - especially when games take so long to finish.
It's still quite a ways off, though. We have to get the game onto other platforms first in order for our business model to be sustainable. Meanwhile, the content teams will still be cranking out new tables. As I mentioned before, we're going to be increasing the variety of table themes after this next Marvel 4-pack.

Wow thats awesome news & thanks for sharing it with us. Also Microsoft announced that XBLA games can now offer 400 Gamerscore Points. Perhaps that allows more Achievements per Table?
Also interested to see how PFX2 Tables will be updated to PFX3's platform. Take all the time you need to work that Pinball Magic.
I hope with FX3 they give you the option to automatically send challenges to everyone under you, and you won't have to worry about scrolling through your list every time, and trying to remember who you have beat, ggggrrrrrr.

Thats an excellent suggestion, also imagine being able to send msgs like " I'm 'x' amount close to beating your score, WATCH OUT!"

I think that if every new table was as good as Pasha, then we would never be tired. But the truth is that since the core-pack was released, the quality of tables have tended to lower : MS Splosion Man (so difficult to lose your ball...), Paranormal (so many bugs, too easy), Fantastic 4, and maybe others.

As long as you don't screw around too much with my achievements (ie: making achievements for the "new modes" that I probably won't play). Keep the achievements the way they are. You need to keep in mind that the people on here complaining about how things have gotten too easy for them are definitely in a minority.
The majority of people who play pinball still have fun with FX2 the way it is, and its still challenging to them. I'm all fro giving the "pros" something to gun for. But i'm a completionist when it comes to achievements, and I hate when games add achievements for modes that I have absolutely no interest in.
Prime example: Assassin's Creed. I completed all achievements in the first two and barely played the third even though I love the series. Simply because they added multiplayer achievements, and I have no desire to play the multiplayer modes. Please don't muck around too much with the achievements in FX2/3. They're fine the way they are.
I remember a thread where marvel crossover tables were discussed as part of new table ideas etc ... now zen's doing it .... awesome.
Regarding the too much marvel issue.... as an evolving company dealing with marvel fans and pinball fans, the logical way to do things is to try and please both crowds so i guess a marvel pinball table is supposed to do that ... please the pinball fan and the marvel fan.
Now zen has made it's way to every support (thanks to the marvel license) it's only logical they start being creative again and make more ZEN tables...
One thing i don't get though is why develop a pbfx2 platform for windows 8 if a pbfx 3 is on it's way .... whatever, can't wait for this game and all the new features that were hinted at ...And also .... bring on Thanos !
