  • The Infinity Gauntlet's Inspiration

    I'm not sure how many of you are, or were, avid comic readers like myself back in the day, but having a pinball table based off of the Infinity Gauntlet is a dream come true for me. I love the table and it does a great job of drawing memorable quotes and images from the comics. So for you geeks out there, here are some pictures I took from the actual Infinity Gauntlet comics I've had stashed away for the past 20 years. Enjoy!

        Very cool dude! Thanks for the share, it's awesome how little things in them end up in the table, like quotes and such

          Thanks for the pictures mate! When we begin to create a Marvel table, we dig ourselves deep into the corresponding comic series. This step is essential. In case of The Infinity Gauntlet I wanted to create an authentic comic inspirated pinball experience I hope I accomplished this mission

            @deep

            You defo caught the event prefectly, the Table is a piece of Art much like the Comic itself.

              Great to see the inspiration behind the table. And great to see it so well captured in the tables appearance. I'm particularly impressed with the 'GOD' statue looking on the table exactly as it appears in print.

              I even found myself reading the various quotes shown in the comic extracts in the same voice as Thanos does in the table!

                Are you kidding?! You did an amazing job! The table truly is a beauty to behold. I wish I could have it as a dynamic theme for my PS3 or a screensaver for my PC. It's a work of art.

                  It's times like this that I wish I know the underlying stories behind the tables themselves. I can't call myself a Marvel fan. I can only claim to have heard of most of the Marvel superheroes. I hadn't heard of any of these crossover stories, Infinity Gauntlet included, so obviously those quotes and the like have gone straight over my head.

                  But for me not getting all those references doesn't really matter. The Infinity Gauntlet (along with Fear Itself) has become one of my favourite pinball tables and that's because it's fun and well designed. The table designers have done a great job by not only designing the tables to appease Marvel fans, but also to make it fun for the newcomer as well.

                  It's a shame I'm performing the worst on this table in relation to the other three in the pack.

                    You'll get there! I'm not great at it either, but it's so much fun! I think I play Hulk the most though, I find that one is the easiest to get into a good groove

                      Don't feel too bad. Infinity Gauntlet is a hardest table of the four for me as well. Like Barbie said, WWHulk is the probably the easiest table. Though I still have yet to beat that damn multiball wizard mode. I currently have a WW Hulk saved game in which I am still on my first ball with 3 or 4 extra balls and I have failed the wizard mode 2 or 3 times. I definitely need to practice my multiball skills.

                        I agree! I'm lousy at multiball! Especially on Infinity Gauntlet... upside down multi? AHHHHHH!!

                            Hey Bearded I still own all of my Infinity Gauntlet comics as well. I'm reading one now as we speak. LOL The next series I'll read again is of course, the Civil War. Glad you posted these pages here to so that our pinball fam that's not familiar with the these events can see for themselves.

                              It is for me! I can get into a good flow with it, but it doesn't last long. For me it's the hardest one, but still fun!
