I'm wondering if I buy the standalone version on Android, will I be able to import those tables into Zen Pinball HD for Android.
We know for sure that you won't be able to import any tables on any mobile versions (it's not possible there). On PSN it is looking likely but until it's 100% confirmed we don't want to say yes.
I'm going to be pissed if i have to buy the SW tables again but i want to check these tables out Day1.I'm going to trust Zen and take a leap of faith(wait, wrong franchise!)
The Star Wars Pinball standalone coming in at a later point is unfortunate timing. It should have been ready with this first SW table pack.

i am struggling with it i may just grab it anyway but the level of uncertainty worries me greatly.
I don't doubt that these tables are going to play great and will be a hit among veterans and newcomers alike. But I think Zen should have either not made a standalone version or only make the tables available in the standalone version (e.g. two separate games like ZP and MP). As we can see on these forums, it has caused a lot of confusion. And those that post on these forums are just a minority of the total user base.
For mobile users, there will be no import feature so we will have to choose to buy the games for one app or the other unless we want to pay twice for the same tables. And unless mobile users visit this forum or it is clearly stated in the app description (which many mobile users don't read anyway), some users might mistakenly buy the same table twice because the think buying the table on one app might entitle them to get the same table on the other app for free. Farsight has had this same confusion with the paid and free versions of their iOS apps. It will also divide the pinball community because now there are two separate leaderboards and pro scores will become meaningless if you opt for the standalone version.
The PS3 standalone version might be less of an issue if you can indeed import tables for free. It will be similar to having separate leaderboards for ZP1 and ZP2. I don't think it is a very elegant situation having two separate apps with identical tables and two separate leaderboards. The good news, trophy hunters can stop complaining about not having ZP1 anymore and can have double the trophies for the exact same SW tables.
Edit: I guess I should note that none of this matters if you don't care about global leaderboards. But as you can probably tell from this post, I do.

Thank you for giving us the official state of play Solitude.
I was really keyed up for wednesday, but will have to apply the brakes until we get an official response on the matter. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to hear what the policy on PS3 is. In the meantime, I can go on enjoying all my existing tables :-)
At least now we can make a decision based on this information and won't feel hard done by at a later date.
