  • [ESB] R2-D2 bumpers and French translation

    Hi guys,

I'm really confused about what to do with the left orbit and the R2-D2 bumpers in Empire Strikes Back, the French explanations being not really clear and about it and quite confusing in the ingame guide. Once the R2-D2 letters are lit, how does the whole thing works?

There are few translation mistakes, would you correct them in a future patch if we tell you about them or would it be useless?

For instance, in the 3rd scene, we have to hit the Tie fighter with the ball in the 1st part, but on the ingame led screen, it says to avoid it ("évitez"). I was really confused at first (avoid it and reach what..?), but it's clear in the ingame guide that we have to shoot for it (for instance, "tirez sur le chasseur Tie").

There are also few other errors which seem to appear in numerous tables, when there is a "ball save", the message is "Balles sauvées" (= "balls saved") while it should be "Balle sauvée" (singular instead of plural).

In any case, great job on these tables, I'm only starting to figuring them out. Gameplay is really great, and music and sound effects are epic! (And it's nice to have a new set of tables other than Marvel comics hehe ).

I'm pretty sure you are, in fact, supposed to avoid the Tie Fighter and the asteroids buy jumping over both and making it into the rollover section on the very top of the table.

Sadly, there are no pinball fans at the translator office we are working with and we have no clue what they are messing up sometimes since we don't know other foreign languages

The R2-D2 bumpers mode is really simple. If you hit them from the left orbit, 1 letter lights up and 1 bumper gets a value depends on the bumper hits till the ball gets out of the bumpers. If all 4 collected, the bumpers activate and worth the previously set value for the hurry up.

In the Scene 3, you have to avoid the TIE, and the asteroids, and get the ball to the upper left hole through the jump ramp.
