  • Suggestions for spamming ESB table

I've only just now turned any serious attention to the ESB table. It's really nice and plays out the theme, well. I'm having fun playing the different scenes, but sometimes I get in the mood just to attempt high scores.

In your opinion, what is a great way (or ways) to spam the ESB table?

I believe the best way is to attempt to stack all the multiball modes, i.e. get them playing at the same time. Some multiballs add extra jackpots if you play them at the same time. For example, if you have both the Jedi and Sith multiball going at the same time, if you collect the same amount of Jedi and Sith jackpots (the left and right ramps), the trap door in the middle of the table will pop up; shooting into the hole collects the Super Jackpot, which is 1 million multiplied by the number of Sith or Jedi jackpots you collected. I got the super jackpot up to 9 million once, so this potentially is your best bet.

You can also attempt the main missions, but they don't tend to award many points considering the amount of effort you have to put in, however I think you light up extra ball by beating scenes quickly - I know I've done it a couple of times with Scene 3, and maybe once with Scene 2. You also light extra ball the first time you successfully complete the training mode. Empire Award also very occasionally lights Extra Ball too, but I haven't worked out the mechanism for that mode yet.

I have yet to beat Scene 6 so I don't know what the wizard mode is like for awarding points. I know lighting the YODA letters increases the scoring potential of wizard mode (adding balls, lighting more jackpot lanes, that kind of thing), but that's all I know.

From my experience, the Hyperspace Multiball is the best scoring. Just hit the two spinners for jackpots. After getting several jackpots, the super jackpot will be lit on the left orbit. I got over 80 million in this multiball mode alone. Stacking this with the Sith and/or Jedi multiball will make it even better.

Extra ball is lit up after completing any 3 of the 6 scenes. You can also increase the scene completion value by constantly hitting the "Stars" and "Wars" targets when playing the scene.

Spelling out YODA and heading to his hide out gives you a few options to help boost the wizard mode (increase time, light up extra jackpot lane, increase jackpot values, etc).

The wizard mode (Grand Finale) itself is a timed multiball mode (infinite ball save). At default settings (no YODA bonuses) you only get two jackpots lanes, about 30 seconds and each jackpot is worth 5 million point.

The multiball approach does seem like a good way to spam. I'll have to try that out and see if I can't get the technique down for playing it out for big points. Haven't gotten to wizard mode, yet.

I was also wondering about the Vader frenzy mode. The score rolls up every time you shoot the ball at Vader. With patience, is this mode worth repeating?

There is the potential to score a lots points on Vader Frenzy, especially when stacked with multiball (although you have to start Vader Frenzy first before multiball, which does limit its effectiveness).

I've never actually started Hyperspace multiball yet. Is there a way to divert the right ramp to light HYPERSPACE? Although I have lit some letters, I don't know actually how I've managed to divert the right ramp.

I believe it's the Force target to divert the ramp.

I personally don't think it's worth it. It rolls up, but it resets after the mode ends. When you start it up again you go back to square one.

I thought it retained the score so the next time the mode started (in the same game) you continued pushing the score up. I could be wrong...

Either the Force Target or the Left Orbit.

I recommend the Left Obit, because hitting the FORCE target will spell out FORCE. This will start up one of the six hurry-up modes. Two of them are Cloud City related and once Cloud City is lit, the ball gets diverted to that instead of spelling out HYPERSPACE.

I've tried many times, but it always resets on me once the mode ends. Perhaps, I'm doing something wrong. **shrugs**

The points in the Vader hurry up mode increase in 10,000 point increments. Your max point score carries over the next time you start up the mode. Though I believe you can max the points per successful vader shot.

Do you think it's worth the time and effort to spam it?

Not really. I think it better to spam the force modes and empire awards. Starting up a bunch of force modes will eventually net you an extra ball and it builds up your EOB bonus. Then spamming the empire awards will eventually allow you to collect the EOB bonus as an empire award. You can collect big bonuses if you can keep your ball in play for a long time. But you have to be careful doing this because you have to avoid the game-ending empire bug if you are your second round of empire awards.

Good to know and good advice. Thanks!

Although getting your score up is something that happens quite slowly on this table, especially at first, my experience has been that:

Once you get through to your second wizard mode you can comfortably get up to maybe 200-400 million in wizard mode. You do have to take the time to get as many YODA bonuses as you can along the way though.

As someone said above, if you keep a ball in play for good long while then getting the Collect Bonus Empire Award can net you lots and lots. Think I've seen up to about 350 mil so far. Look out for the Empire bug though.

It's pretty easy to activate Jedi and Sith multiballs at the same time and then keep an eye on your jackpot totals to acivate the Balance Jackpot.

Hyperspace is quite easy to milk too.

Finally, I think that Star Wars Frenzy and the FORCE Jackpot hurry-ups are the most consistently productive for score. AT-ST hunt can be good but there's a fair bit of luck involved in getting the ball stuck among the bumpers for a good long time.
