  • Darth Vader Table Discussion

Might as well start up a thread for this table too.

Has anyone got to the Final Mission yet on this table?

I've been able to complete all 5 missions, but not all in one game.

I'm curious if the "Final Mission" (Wizard Mode) is an actual final mission like in Clone Wars or just a bonus mode like in Starfighter Assault?

Personally not my favorite table of the pack. Mostly due to how long you can keep the ball in play and the countless Hurry-up modes on this table. Starfighter is another table that you can keep the ball in play but it's less forgiving than DV.

I too have completed all the scenes but not in one game. I'm also curious if there is a final wizard mode as well. It's hard to tell though. The last Scene DV throws the empire over the edge. It looks like there is an icon for the empire amidst the scene letter but I'm not sure.

I like the missions/scenes on this table that's probably the only thing that is cool about it. Personal preference though.

I will try and play this table again sometime but too me it's a bit boring compared to the other 2.

      Two questions:

      1. Am I the only one who finds the upper right turn lane (where you can lock balls for POD multiball) a shot that half the time will rocket the ball SDTM?
If not, what am I missing?

      2. How many points is each scene worth? Haven't really come close to completing any of them.
Wondering if they are actually worth the effort.
Tables completed: Ms Splosion Man, Spiderman, BioLab, Captain America, Empire Strikes Back, The Avengers, Wolverine, World War Hulk, Sorcerer's Lair, Fantastic Four, Blade, X-Men, Thor, Moon Knight, Infinity Gauntlet, Super League Football, Starfighter Assault, Han Solo
Billionaire's Club: Spider-Man, World War Hulk, The Avengers, Sorcerer's Lair, Empire Strikes Back, Captain America, Ms. Splosion Man, Han Solo

You're not the only one. Thankfully, I usually can rebound the shot either with a nudge or flipper technique.

About 25 million for each scene completion. The scenes themselves also offer additional points (100,000 to 1 million) for each correct shot you make.

            Thanks.
I kept hearing people on other thread mention how easy it was to keep the ball alive, without any mention of the turn lane drain.

As for the mission score, that's good to know it actually is worthwhile in most cases.

I have to stand by my earlier opinion. This table is boring. I'm sorry I like the ideas and concepts for the missions/scenes and that's about it. I got my 1.4+b just doing hurry-ups while stacking with the various multiballs. I think in that run I only completed 1 mission. I didn't even work on completing all the missions.

I do however like the mission/scene difficulty enough to just see if there is a wizard mode of sorts. The multiballs are cool with the Blue and Red florescent colors on the 'Resolve' multiball. That in combination with the above mentioned hurry-ups, it's fun to see all the numbers light up like a Christmas tree.

That said I think I'm done with this table well at least till my friends beat my score.

I don't find the table boring par-say, but I do find the table very annoying.

Practically every mode has a timer on this table including the missions. It really ticks me off that practically everything can divert the ball and drain the timer. Case and point, those darn dreadful bumper combos. I had a mission going with 45 seconds left on the clock and only one more shot to make. The stupid ball gets stuck into a bumper combo for the next 50 seconds straight. The timer ran out and the ball kept on going at the bumpers. I tried nudging the table, but that didn't do any good. I had a similar issue with the slingshots. The ball kept on bouncing back and forth for the next 10 seconds or so wasting precious seconds on that timer.

TO ALL OF THE TABLE DESIGNERS. If you are going to have timers on your missions. Make sure that the timer freezes when the ball hits the bumpers or slingshots.

I for the life of me can't complete Mission 3, any tips because I seem to be fighting a losing battle.

It's funny that you mention that. I always find that the ball gets stuck in the bumpers when I don't want it to. Yet when I actually want it to bounce around, it usually just a bumper once and then falls.
This table is not the only one that this happens on, BTW.

You are probably getting stuck on the second phase. What you need to do is move the ball back and forth with using the flipper buttons. Eventually Luke hesitates and loses track of the ball for a second or two. That's when you suppose to press the launch button and throw it at him.

Yeah, it's quite common with some of the other tables, but this table is by far the most notorious.

Anyone got a detailed description on how to do - Mission 3,4,5 and the Wizard Mode... so far I just can't seem to complete Mission 3 mostly because of those annoying side targets.

I'm having trouble with 3 as well. I have a game saved right now with all the missions complete except scene 3. That scene is driving me nuts. If I beat scene 3, I will get the last achievement for the new SW pack.

I know mission 5 you have to make a 3-way combo: left (FORCE?) ramp that will feed the right upper flipper, then the REBEL ramp which feeds the left upper flipper, and then the BASE ramp. After making the 3-way combo, you need to shoot the right sinkhole (the one that starts the Trench Run mini-game). Then repeat the above sequence of shots another 2 times.

I can't remember what scene 4 was about.

Edit: I am not sure if this is mission 4 or 2. But you have to shoot the 2 flashing lanes which will light a lock lamp (i think a little + symbol) in front of the left or right ramp. Lock the ball on the table. The ball will freeze on the table and will be held in place by a magnet. Another ball will be autolaunched and 2 more lanes will light. Shoot the 2 flashing lanes which will light another lock. Lock the 2nd ball on the table. A 3rd ball will be autolaunched and again shoot the 2 flashing lanes which will light the last lock. Lock the 3rd ball. If you knock off any of the balls from their magnetic locks, you will need to relock them before another ball will be autolaunched after hitting the flashing lanes. After you have all 3 balls locked on the table, you will start a 3-ball multiball and I believe all ramps and loops will light. Shoot all the flashing lanes. After shooting all the flashing lanes, I think you have to shoot the center sinkhole (maybe the right one as well) to lock any extra balls you have remaining. If you lose 2 balls during the multiball you will fail the scene.

Missions 4 and 5 are pretty straight forward. Mission 3 is very annoying. A tip shot off of the upper flippers should hit the side targets. You just need to find that sweet spot.
