  • Improvements on Pinball FX 2

I am a huge fan of Pinball FX 2 and it has taken over my gaming life over the last two years. Being such a big fan and making the assumption that Pinball FX 3 will only be released once the new generation of consoles come out in a year or two, I now have to consider if Zen Pinball 2 is a big enough improvement so that it is worth my while getting a PlayStation 3. I know many of the players on these forums have both a Xbox360 and and a PS3 and play both games. The question is thus - how is Zen Pinball 2 an improvement over Pinball FX 2 and is it a big enough improvement to warrant the purchase of a PS3?

Cloda, you're pretty knowledgeable about Zen's pinball games here. You've even given me some advice here and there. Now I would absolutely LOVE to say that ZP2 warrants a PS3 purchase. However, no one can answer that. That is a choice you must make. I can tell you that I purchased a 360 just solely for PBFX 2. No lie! I also upgraded the Nintendo 3DS XL just for ZP and MP. That's just me though. Call me crazy, but I really love pinball and if you can't tell by now....I love Zen's pinball format.

I will also tell you that ZP2 is a third world difference to ZP 1. Now comparing that to PBFX2, its not a huge difference in my opinion. The physic are tweaked a bit better, meaning the ball has a little more bounce. Shots in Blade are so much easier to hit compared to the Blade table on PBFX2. That's just some of the improvements. I could have spoke about Street Fighter and others, but it'll be too long. PBFX2 still is an incredible game for 360 and still has almost equal standing with ZP2. The graphics are different on ZP2. They are sharper and there's some light reflection off of the backglass on the table like Blade (it's beautiful. Top 3 best looking tables).

Cloda, I would hope you get a PS3 because of great games like Uncharted, God of War, Infamous etc. Well I didn't get a 360 for Halo or Gears, so. Anyway, ZP2 is a great game man. If you haven't played tables like Ninja Gaiden 2, Tesla, El Dorado, or Shaman...you're missing out on great tables. V12 is even playable here. I'll say that the older tables from ZP or more playable on ZP2, than the older tables from PBFX to PBFX2. The choice is yours man. I got both systems and I'm happy with it. I'm not in that PS3 and 360 drama. I have ALL systems.
