Late for the party, but I just had to register to reply to this thread.
I love most of the ideas, great job guys! There are four ideas that caught my attention in this thread:
Mother Nature. Awesome concept. Love it.
IT Lan Janitor. This made me giggle. Would be wicked.
Doctor Who. It would be hard to decide which doctor i'd like to see though.
Chambers of Shaolin. (I would assume you mean the classic 8/16 bit game?).
I kind of like this idea. I would take it further though. As a long time martial arts movie fan (foremost old school kung fu), there are a few ideas that come to mind:
- The Iron Armour technique
The point with this style is that (usually) the bad guy has protected 107 out of the body's 108 pressure point (of which 36 are paralyzing and can cause death). There are eight levels of breathing techniques that gives the practitioner control of the air circulation in the body. There is however one point, the breath gate, that must remain open/unprotected.
Ideas on how this can work can be seen in movies such as The Invincible Armour, Born Invincible and the Shaw Brothers classic Executioners from Shaolin (In which the bad guy can move the breath gate around, illustrated in the movie by a manuequin with paths linked between the pressure points, and the main hero dropping pinball like balls through it in order to find the bad guy's weaknesses).
I'm not very good at explaining this so I guess it would be clearer watching said movies, if for no other reason, for the great visual styles in them.
- Hung Ga (Five Elements style specifically) kung fu
Based on the Chinese elements, Earth, Water, Fire, Metal, and Wood taking their animal forms with Dragon, Snake, Tiger, Leopard, and Crane. I'm pretty sure some of you have seen this particular style in action by Jackie Chan or any movie picturing the Chinese folk hero Wong Fei Hung.
- The 36th Chamber of Shaolin
This Shaw Brothers movie (and it's sequel; Return to the 36th Chamber) about a boy sent to the Shaolin temple to practice was most likely the main inspiration for the classic game Chambers of Shaolin. My vision would be something in the line of practicing hard in each of the 35 chambers, starting out with mundane tasks such as carrying water barrels until reaching a high enough level to be able to enter the forbidden 36th chamber to win the game.
- Any table based on the Yuen Woo Ping (and brothers) over the top fantasy fu movies Shaolin Drunkard/Taoism Drunkard would blow my mind off this world. You will know what I mean if you watch them, especially Taoism Drunkard. Just watch this short clip:
Actually, when it comes down to it, for me, any cheesy and badly dubbed old school kung fu table would suffice.

Would love to see a Battlestar Galactica table, or Star Gate...
Another table idea, possibly burnt by PvZ, is Little Shop of Horrors.

i think transformers would make a great pinball table ( i'm not a big fan of Michael Bay transformers so for me the stern table is kind of ruined by that)
so make a table about Transformers G1, T fall of cybertron, Transformes prime or even the IDW comic run
make the table work with sides that you can chose at the begging of the ball, and the ramps shift and transform changing the table depending if you chose decepticon or autobot, give each side their own set of missions and one special multiball mode for each one, and every time you finish a mission you lock a ball in a especial area, once you finish the mission the balls transform into a especial hard to reach ramp (also it could move slowly to increase the difficulty) that is required to hit a certain amount of times for wizard mode.
what do you guys think?Last edited by bazz; 11-25-2012, 11:23 PM.

I loves me some HB cartoons. I'd also adore a Studio Ghibli table. Howl's Moving Castle, Porco Rosso, Nausicaa, Castle in the Sky... oh so many choices.
I'd love to see a SimCity style table where different shots and missions control the way your city is built and how it does. Missions to mitigate disasters, ramps and targets that have to be hit right to level up your buildings to things like skyscrapers, a city that builds itself around the edges of the table.Last edited by Piccalilli; 11-17-2012, 04:48 PM.

Some very interesting ideas here, for me a sci-fi table would do the trick (as there isn't any at least in Mac platform), but to be honest, any new table will do because you guys at Zen are awesome.
Some of these have already been mentioned:
Back To The Future
Alien
Dune
