  • The little things that you appreciate about ZP2

So, I have been plugging away on the PS Nation X-men table tournament. That tabel is brutal. Anyways, I have a strange fascination with voice acting and am an extreme auditory learner. I really appreciate the voice work I am hearing on most of Zen's tables. Magneto's voice is just awesome. The "nooooo!" after your ball drains on PvZ is classic, as is the cute little "combo!" female voice on the same table. I just wanted to thank Zen for keeping the little details intact, giving each table a personality, and showing their love of what they do. Please Zen, continue to employ excellent voice actors because it can be the difference between an average table and a great one.

What little details do you all notice and appreciate when playing ZP2?

Please Zen! Please continue to use New Generation Pictures for all of your voice work. They are one of the best dubbing studios in the business.

The lighting (night mode) and light reflection on the Blade table.

No problem! It's a bit of a long read, but pretty informative. Enjoy

The Sinkholes on most of the Tables,( just Shaman not ) are way much easyer to sink the Ball in , specialy the Cavesinkhole on Epic -Quest...

The upper left Ramp on Ninja Gaiden is easyer to hit aswell, that are some small Things i like ,
oohhhh & that i can switch of the Popupscores is the best Change ever....
The new 5 Freeballsystem & that you can earn them all on each Mainball you want to ,on every Table, is cool , before that you could loose 3 Balls on 1 Mainball , if you did not earn the 2 Extraballs on the lost Mainball . And with that the 15 Extraball Games belong to the Past ;p

While ZP2 would stand out in any case, the delights are in the details. The reflections and lighting on the tables look fantastic, the ‘weight’ of the ball feels good, and some of the visuals (like the scrolling cinematics on Epic Quest) stand out as innovative and extremely entertaining.

And I’m glad you folks already brought up the sound quality. The voice acting is very well done (I still love the “Nonononono” on Shaman) of course, and the sound of the balls, flippers and ‘whiz-bangs’ are always great; but some mention should got to how good some of the scripting is as well (Epic Quest, to mention it one more time, has some great lines).

It’s all the little things like that, for me, which takes ZP2 from a pin-ball game to a pin-ball experience.

I would hate to see tables with characters/franchises that are exclusive to a particular console. We already are missing out on PBFX2 tables like Buccaneer, Bio Lab, Rome etc. And the 360 is missing out on Tesla and El Dorado etc.

I'm not going to front. I do kind of want more PS3 exclusive tables to match what the Xbox has. Technically, the PS3 only has 3 tables that no one else has. The fantastic Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 table, Tesla (boss table FTW).....and V12 (which isn't saying too much). I do have to admit that V12 is a lot funner now with the new physics. The other tables like El Dorado and Shaman are shared with other platforms.

Then again...it's good that people are exposed to these fantastic tables. Why hog all the goods? ZP2 is awesome in so many words. Once the 3DS gets a hold of it, Zen's market and audience will shoot even more through the roof. I know a lot of 3DS owners who wants to play Pasha and Rome though. Guess we'll see.

Oh man. YES. A thousand times yes. Uncharted would make for a crazy table. Would you base it on a specific one, or just a general Uncharted theme?

You and just about everyone on my friend's list on BOTH the PS3 and 360. I decided to do my first run through of Borderlands 1 tomorrow. I put a lot of time into ZP2 and can't seem to steer away from it. I'm trying my best to beat all of the tables. I'm 75% done so far. Time will tell.
