It will probably be out (along with an update) in a few weeks. We're still working out some issues and getting the table ready for release. Thanks for your patience and support!

I bet it's because the animation where the Thing breaks the ball in half is difficult to do. Either that or the negative zone ball save animation. I'd put my money on either of those things.

Whereas I still expect it's some absolutely random licensing issue with a voice actor or something. Wouldn't really make much sense, since Fantastic Four is one of the tables in the iOS lineup, so they've obviously been able to "port" it to other systems after the initial release of the title. But an eighteen-year delay on releasing X-Men: The Arcade Game (which was only ever able to happen because they re-recorded the voices) shows just how powerful a voice actor can be in causing "delay in game" penalties.

Hopefully by the time it's released I'll be a little more competent overall. Yeahbeer's unofficial weekly tournaments are certainly going a long way in forcing me to get proficient at tables I never really delved too deep into, like Excalibur and (shuddder) Iron Man ...

Haha no, it's nothing to do with the voice acting or licensing. It was riddled with issues/bugs, so we held it back from the release of Zen Pinball 2 to fix it. It should be out in a few weeks (with an update).

Just seems weird that this ONE table would give you so much grief. But at the same time, I've had my own coding issues over the years - which often end when they "magically heal" themselves and I never find out what went wrong or how they resolved themselved. Those are the most annoying bugs of all.

Them Doombots work in mysterious ways, I guess.

There are two reasons why they delayed the table. Barbie mentioned the first one, while Niel (Solitude) mentioned the other in the comments section of the PS Blog.

As you can see, the other reason why they delayed the table was so they can easily issue a patch to fix the bugs in ZP2. Making patches aren't cheap (Sony charges them) and since it requires Zen to release out a patch when releasing out a new table. It makes sense to take advantage of it. The patch will pay itself off with the F4 table sales.
