Blade question

Loving Blade! Haven't touched the other 3 tables in the pack yet, but Blade alone is worth the 10 bucks.

I have a question about the daytime multiball (the one you get by spelling BLADE).... I understand it's a good way to boost energy. But in order to spell BLADE I need to pick up a talisman.

I've been in the habit of getting all the talismans right away. Once I've picked them all up, does this mean I can't spell BLADE and enter that multiball mode again later in the game when I need energy?

Basically, should I be saving talismans? The "x2 all scores" is mandatory right? What if I need to grab all of the talismans before I get that one?

I might well be misunderstanding the system... input appreciated! Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, I read the Blade Guide thread in the FX2 forum, still wasn't clear on this.

I also get all 4 right in the beginning as they all have essential benefits for scoring etc. It doesn't prevent you from spelling BLADE as it will still count if you go through the process of passing the ball through one of the tallismans (you also get a small amount of treasure).

It would probably less confusing if they just said, "get the ball through the lit gate" at the requirement. Once you grab all four talismans, the four gates remain lit. You just need to get the ball through one of them at that point to light up the 'B' in BLADE.

The best way to boost up your energy is shooting the Shrine Hole, after suppressing any Dark Hold chapters that you've acquired.
