Your most painful ball loss?

Today I was playing a game on Sorcerer's Lair. I was at 1.1 billion (personal record), wizard mode ready (just had to shoot the ball into the mission hole) and with 19! obsidians in stock. I had the ball catched on my right flipper, so it was a completely controlled position. I nudged it over to the left to hit the mission hole - the nudge didn't register and the ball just rolled down the flipper... Game Over. And there goes my top ten score. (

To add insult to injury: The ball before that was lost because the auto launch after wizard mode sent the ball straight down the left outlane and surely the kickback (which is up 100% of the time on this table) was used during the wizard multiball.

I've had many many painful ball losses before but this one just topped everything I've experienced so far. Truly infuriating.

So, what are your most painful ball losses?

Funny you bring this up. I was playing Wolverine last night for the ps nation tournament, had almost 500m on Ball 1, then I go to eat dinner with the family, and apparently I was gone for over two hours so my ps3 turned off (dang system auto-off). I was really pissed lol luckily I plowed through and tried again, getting 2.735b. Clearly it's not a ball loss (game loss lol), but it was just my own fault for having that option on.

Wow sui99. That's a really personal question, but I guess I'll share

I was playing World War Hulk and I had yet to beat the table. I was on my last ball and I had just completed the last mission to unlock wizard mode. The trophy popped, temporarily pausing the game, and when the action resumed my timing/concentration was off and the ball drained down the middle. Argh!

I lost a ball when I first beat X-Men because of that stupid popup and a little slow down afterwards. It was my first time that I beat that table, so it was also a run for a good score (aaaand a table I'm generally not good at ^^).

And lol @ auto shutdown. You know you can save?

Speaking of saved games:

After my Sorcerers Lair dillemma I fired up Thor to take another shot at Loki. Loki didn't fall but I got into a good game.

I was at 400 million with two balls left when my girlfriend wanted some attention. Tonight I thought to myself "Ah, I quickly finish my game before I go to bed" - and quick it was. I think I managed to get like no points at all with my remaining balls... -.-

Pinball, what a cruel game sometimes.

also just hate loosing all three balls on a multiball , that is like arghhh !!! whoa really

Nudge pass fail: Check
Trophy Pop up during a fast ball passage: Check
Triple or double ball drain: Check
Ejected ball SDTM: Check

Had them all happen, but I find with Zp2, I have never had as many double or triple ball drains as this version.

A few days ago, I was going for top spot on EQ. I was at 4B and top score was 6.4 ish B. I reached level 100 and received a 2B bonus, with 2 balls remaining, and current ball still in play. This was followed by 3 ball drains before I could exceed the record. Never have I wanted to throw my controller through my flatscreen so bad... Yesterday I got >7B though, so all is good for now...

I also hate when:
You use a magna save only to have the ball drop SDTM right from the 'magnet'.
Tesla 'Unloads' the ball into left outlane
EQ, sometimes the sinkhole/upkicker under the bumpers will shoot the ball SDTM.
You have one shot left to activate ball save, and lose the ball
You have one shot left to activate wizard mode and lose the ball

Oh yeah, last night the ball was spinning right on top of the post that divides the inlane/outlanes, and I nudged the table up, and the ball just stayed there and eventually fell into the outlane.

Another infuriating ball loss is trying the nudge ball out of outlane area, only to have it drop there anyway, and then try and deathsave it, only to TILT the goddamn game!

I have also tilted because of 3 consecutive outlane drains, first 2 recovered by deathsave, but 3rd caused the TILT. UGHHHH!!!!

Man mine just happened. MoonKnight table. Sittin at about 290 mil. Wizard modes been started(multiple times now, i cant hit that damn center hole enuff times, what a short time limit!) I decide to take 5. Come back on ball 3, one extra ball. Within a minute....slow drain off a rebound sdtm...no luck with a nudge to save. Not even a minute into last ball...bad rebound to the outlane. Try to death save...back under right flip...another ds...under left flip...desperation nudge....tilt....muther-----!! Oh well...301 mil...19th on leaderboard though i guess.
