  • ZP2 on Vita is just simply amazing but I have one gripe

Ok first things first. I own every single Zen Pinball release for each system, PS3, 360, 3DS, Iphone, and now the PSVita

I guess you could say I am a lover of video games, and certainly love Zen Pinball and every table they have released (except for Iron Man).

The PSVita is my newest toy and I must say that Zen Pinball 2 looks best on this system to my eyes more so then any of the other systems. Just truly amazing. If you do not own a Vita I am going to go tell you right now if it's within your pocket to pick one up it is worth every single penny. Not even looking to get into the convo about that here but from a gamer, this is a high point system and I really hope it takes off much the way the PS3 did which had a slow climb to finally get legs.

My gripe is online multiplayer. I have yet to encounter one game while online using the Vita. Even when it auto creates an online game for me or I create one for myself, nada.

If anyone can maybe clue me in as to how this is even possible, I'd love an answer. I have no problems finding online games with other players when using the PS3 or 360 but the Vita is non existent and for me that's very disappointing

EST and I am up late, add me if you can'f find anyone in the wee hours of the evening

That is... weird! Anyone else experiencing this?

Me and a mate are attempting a multiplayer using the PS3 and the Vita. Is a cross-platform multiplayer possible? It seems not as invitations are not registering and messages for game invites are not 'clickable'. Any help is appreciated.

Agree about the Vita - Zen looks incredible on it.

Vita versions of Zen tables are for the most part amazing. Newer stuff (the newest Marvel Pack, and particularly PvZ) are almost perfect replicas of the PS3 version.

There are a couple of older tables where I guess they didn't spend as long porting and polishing, and there are problems (lighting effects not being included on the ball save targets in Mars, for example, and it's not just a matter of looking cool, it's actually hard to tell if they're lit) but all in all, Zen on Vita offers the best recreation of console I've ever seen. Other games with crossplay/versions for both PS3 and Vita take a big performance and graphical hit in the Vita version (Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and Street Fighter 4 for instance).

And it's true there isn't anti-aliasing and you can see jaggies here and there.. BUT, you can use it to your advantage. they give you flipper markers... easier to find the dead center of the flipper when there are points on it.

There are some differences in ball behaviour on some tables. Anyone notice this/know why? For example, shooting the spinner in Blade returns it more or less down the middle every time on PS3, but on Vita, about 1/3 of the time it catches an edge and bounces towards the right inlane/outlane. I considered that maybe my flipper timing is a bit off on Vita (different throw on the buttons) so I thought I was making the same shot, but I wasn't... but i've played enough now that I'm sure it's a software thing - same shots, hundreds of times on both systems, the physics are a tiny bit different sometimes.

(edit: also in Blade, in Daywalker Multiball the balls just drop into the playfield from the targets under Frost, but in the PS3 version, they come down the left inlane.)

For those who haven't seen a Vita or any OLED (organic LED) display, the pixels themselves generate light; with regular LCD displays the pixels produce color but not light, and the entire screen is backlit by LED. With OLED, each pixel is lit the exact amount it should be to display any given colour. Does it make that much of a difference? I'd rather watch a movie on my 5" Vita screen than my 11" laptop display - color and contrast is way better and you don't get eye strain looking at it for a long stretch.

Only gripe - smaller screen (not Zen's fault)... it means it's harder to see the difference between "the middle of the flipper" and "a tiny bit to the right of the middle of the flipper" and my noobsauce accuracy isn't as good.

                Anything yet?

I still have yet to find one multiplayer game.

I have even tried creating a game and waited an hour (while working on other stuff and keeping an eye on it) and no one joined.

Is multiplayer for Vita just not working?
