  • What are the best marvel tables ?

So iv'e got enough left in my wallet funds for a couple of new tables, i'm going to download 2 tables later this week but i'm not sure which one's to get. I already have all the zen tables other than PvZ. Any advice/feedback from the forum members on what tables i should be looking at will be happily received.

    Thanks.

Most of the Marvel tables are sold in packs, so just getting 2 isn't possible at the moment. From the 13 available tables, 12 are part of 4-packs. Only Captain America can be bought as a standalone.
At the end of the month they're going to release Fantastic Four and hopefully Civil War in November. Those two will be standalones as well.

If you're looking at the four packs, the newest pack (Avengers, Fear Itself, Infinity Gauntlet, World War Hulk) offers some pretty unique concepts.
The tables in the V&V set (Ghost Rider, Moon Knight, X-Men, Thor) are very well rounded. Especially Moon Knight is an awesome table.
The classic pack (Spiderman, Wolverine, Blade, Iron Man) is a bit more conservative, but with Blade and Iron Man it still includes two of the most challenging tables in Zen's lineup.

So, if you can afford a four-pack, it depends what kind of style/challenge do you like. The alternative would be to buy Captain America now and wait 1-2 weeks and buy Fantastic Four, when it arrives.

Infinity Gauntlet is really cool. I also like Fear Itself and Moon Knight. Ghost Rider is an 'easy table' wherein that you can keep the ball alive longer. Wolverine has a "claw save" which can be exploited for longer games and really high scores, but the fun factor is low IMO.

I recommend buying one of the Marvel table packs. The standalone tables cost $3 each, while the table packs cost $10 ($2.50 a table). I'm not sure what that converts to for the Europe PSN store, but I know that you are still getting a better deal in buying a four pack compared to the individuals.

Which one to buy is a whole different story. I recommend downloading all of the demos and just try each table out and make your own decission. One thing I like about Zen is their consistency accross their tables. I have yet to play a table of theirs that I didn't like.

Standouts are Infinity Gauntlet - Fear Itself - Moon Knight. Avoid Iron Man it'll make your hair grey in a matter of hours.

Iron Man is cool in my book, it's super easy now compared to Marvel Pinball.

As many have mentioned most of the tables from Marvel come in packs of 4, so if you have enough for any of them it's your choice. Players have their favorites.

For me, I love Fear Itself and Infinity Gauntlet from Avengers chronicles they offer some interesting twist with table mechanics.

In the Vengeance and Virtue pack, 3 tables stand out for me. Love X-men. The table looks very simplistic at first but the table is very deep and lots to do. Thor and Moon Knight stand out as well. Thor being really challenging sometimes.

In the original marvel pack my favorites are Iron Man and Blade.

As for single table purchases the only one that were single tables are Captain America and Fantastic Four. Fantastic Four has not been released yet since they are still working on it. Fantastic Four being one my favorited as well.

Good points all around by everyone and I agree with what most everyone has said. My personal favorites are Infinity Gauntlet, X-Men, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and Wolverine. The great thing about ZP2 is that you can demo all the tables so I would strongly recommend that because it really boils down to personal preference.

I like to break the Marvel tables down into three main categories: flow (easy to whip the ball around), challenge, and balance (a mix of the first two).

                  Flow
                  Spider-Man
                  Moon Knight
                  World War Hulk
                  Captain America
                  The Avengers
                  Fantastic Four

                  Challenge
                  Iron Man
                  Blade
                  Fear Itself
                  Thor

                  Balance
                  X-Men
                  Wolverine
                  Ghost Rider
                  Infinity Gauntlet

Table Wishlist: Lord of the Rings, God of War, Final Fantasy VII, The Legend of Zelda, and Marvel's Archangel.

just my opinion, but I find F4 difficult to make repeatable shots, thus difficult in the 'flow' dept. I have yet to make a 10 hit combo. Just my opinion of course. Cheers buddy.

I can see that. It wasn't meant to be a definitive list and I haven't played FF in a while so I wouldn't disagree with you.

I bet it'll be a lot easier in ZP2, just like most tables now.

I have still yet to master X-Men. I think I'm having problems keeping up with the endurance of spelling out X-MEN. I have gotten 3 letters out of the 4 needed, but that's where it stops. I need to keep trying!

All the tables are worth playing in my opinion. Here is how I rank the Marvel tables:

                            1. Infinity Gauntlet
                            2. Fear Itself
                            3. Thor
                            4. Blade
                            5. The Avengers
                            6. Captain America
                            7. Moon Knight
                            8. Iron Man
                            9. Wolverine
                            10. Ghost Rider
                            11. X-Men
                            12. World War Hulk
                            13. Spider Man

I have yet to play Fantastic Four. While I do like Zen's original pinball tables more, all these tables are fun in their own way.
