Demos? Record/Play/Share

It would be useful for quite a few things. Theres been plenty of times i wanted to do a "rewind" and see exactly how i got certain scores or bonuses. Also have had some weird ball physics (lol sorry) that ive wanted to see again. -
The only question is the recording method, which is a technical side the end user wouldn't see, it'll be pretty much statistical data (pos, directional velocity, score, frame no) which compresses rather easily. But wether you only record user interactions, user interactions and ball collisions, or just a constant stream of ball position and velocity data depends on how good ZP2's simulation system is :P
Sorry, I got nerdy for a moment.Leave a comment:

This has been requested/mentioned before, and there would definitely have to be limitations to this, seeing as some games can last for hours, if not days, on end.Leave a comment:

Demos? Record/Play/Share
Unless there is plenty of rand() usage in your physics, I'm sure that having the ability to record gameplay and sharing with friends/enemies or even just proving your high-score to the community would be great.
I personally enjoyed watching pros play as a kid and seeing what the game was like when it was played properly XD I'm very much a casual player and doubt I'll ever get the full game out of the tables in ZP2, so seeing them played would be nice too. And it will finally give a reason to use view modes 3-8
This would also make choosing boards easy and great too, because instead of a stupendously short demo, you can see the board played and see it's features. Plus seeing something played makes you want to play it yourself (As happened a lot when I was a kid).
I'm not sure if it's an ommision on technical reasons (code, physics limitations), infrastructure limitations (system for uploading/downloading demos) or just time (spending time making even more effing marvel tables instead of original ones :P)Tags: None
