Yep. I Want my three nudges back. i havent played a good portion of my tables yet since the update, but I can think of multiple tables and game situations where my strategy will have to change because i only get 2 now.

I dont recall anyone complaining about it, why'd this happen Zen?

Too much nudge is bad. ZP2 is a pinball, not soccer where you have to make a pass between the flips in order to be on the good one for the shot you want to do. Ok, you can do this 2 times, and it's enough. If you want more, you just have to know where to shot (ramp, orbit, hole) to have the ball on the good flip next time.
That's the difference between good and top players.

In the past I used to rely too much on nudge and it just seemed to get me in trouble. On Sorcerer's Lair after one of the mini games I always wanted to nudge automatically to get the ball on the left flipper but because of a glitch it didn't work and I lost many balls that way. I missed my first ever chance at Blade's Wizard mode as I wanted to do one too many nudges during the second stage of the Wizard mode and lost my last ball! It has also happened to me that I needed a nudge to attempt to use a death save, but didn't have the option because I used up all my nudges!

Those mishaps basically taught me not to automatically look at nudging as my first option but to look for alternative get-out-of-danger shots. As Mammouth explained... you just need to figure out your safe shots and work from there. In this way you get a much better understanding of the table and also have more confidence to attempt shots with the ball on the move.

With all this said... for a new player nudging is very important to learn to bring the ball under control so that you can learn to aim better but my opinion, as explained, is to learn not to rely on nudging too much for your standard approach.

              LOL Same here!

I don't rely on nudging anyway. If I had to, then I would stop at 2 and nothing more.

I'm personally fine with two hard nudges (2 tilt warnings), since they rest after 10 seconds (or so). Most pinball machines are the same way (2 tilt warnings), but the tilt warnings take much longer to reset.

the tilt in a real machine is a cone in a circle the higher you put the cone the harder to tilt , i don't know if they still use that mechanism today.

The worst thing is that sometimes the nudge doesn't catch at all. Which makes it an almost sure ball lost if done to bump the ball to the other flipper. It was the same in ZP and MP. I hoped they fixed it.

When i played zen2 with 3 nudges i found it not too much and not too little i use nudges rarely for saving the ball from right and left drains as well as passing but only when there is a timer and of course using it for death saves as well, another is straight down the middle shots nudging saves me a lot it does not happen too often tho.

i try not to use it as much as possible 3 just feels perfect that's all.

keep in mind unlike real pinball or The Pinball Arcade by farsight studios Slingshot passes are way too unpredictable in zen2 which is why we use nudging at times Slingshot passes end badly a lot, for me anyway.

soft nudges are a big pain a lot of the time they count as a nudge no matter what i do and some tables don't give a proper warning that i used my last nudge, also its hard to soft nudge in time and not over do it or under do it when your concentrating.

real pinball machines and TPA have more nudges but that's because of the increased flipper spacing and easier drains i seem to recall up to 5-6 before tilting i think it depends on the make and the table and how easy it is for it to count as a tilt, it has been quite some time since i played a real pinball.

i foresaw that the more pro players would choose 2 as they would not have a problem with it but that does not mean 3 is too much i would never go any further than that, street fighter 2 has 5 nudges which i thought was odd it only needs 3 i think, its not as hard as the zen 1 version.

its amazing how civil these forums are keep in mind this poll is not meant to start a war
speaking of which civil war in two days and borderlands 2 DLC, gonna be a good day

A little secret that I discovered in ZP2. Pressing the analog stick downward does a soft nudge no matter how hard you press it.

Not so much of a secret. I have stated this again and again on here... use the stick, and you can nudge in ANY direction slowly/lightly, and it will not register. Takes a smooth touch and practice to do it. It is also dangerous since there is more of a chance that is doesn't register at all (as mentioned). And sometimes the ball doesnt make it all the way across and puts the ball in danger.

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about the L3/R3 button. I mean just press the stick downward.

I'm assuming they added this feature for the d-pad users. On ZP1 and MP, you couldn't do soft nudges on the d-pad.
