  • Thank you for Fear Itself

by far this is my favorite pinball game from you guys

The awesome spectacle of the events on the machine and the fantastic in your face sound effects really make me smile every time I play it.

    Thank you!

Please make more tables like this!

Indeed. By far my favorite table. A great balance of uniqueness and challenge at the same time. A great surprise especially from a comic story I'm not familiar with.

Fear Itself is definitely in my top 5 tables but I have hardly played it! I need to fix that after the PS Nation tourney ends.

Some tournament that a certain gaming site was holding. There were only a limited number of slots available and they were all filled up by the time I even read the notice.

I've not played Fear Itself for ages. I've been concentrating so hard on building up my Pro Score on playing my weaker tables (namely Fantastic Four and Earth Defence) I've neglected to play this lovely table.

Time to rectify that I think...

I still dont know how to play earth defence! The only thing I do know (did the same as you this week: built up a weaker table score:ED) is to alternate the ramps to build up the rank stripes and hit ramp combos. At some point the Lock Lights for airstrike multiball. Lock 3 balls (rescue hole I think it is called) and then start the mulitball, and build jackpots by hitting ramps I thinks. Center ramp or something else collects it. I got my highest score this week by doing this, >1B. Before that, I got 400M once but no idea how, and prior to that, only a couple of millions. Best of luck to you.

Reading the Pinball General portion of the Trophy Guide over at PS3Trophies.org does a good job in explaining things. You're main goal is getting the 10 medals and destroy the robot (wizard mode).

The guide explains how to get all of the ten medals. I'll just explain the wizard mode.

Wizard Mode: After getting all 10 medals, sink the ball in the mission hole again (behind the three drop targets) to start it up. In this multiball mode, you need to fire the cannon at the robot twice.

To fire the cannon, you need to light it up by hitting the "red target icon" rollover (on one of the left inlanes) and then hit the right orbit. After that, shot the ball into the subway hole (or a left outlane drain) to get it into the cannon. Rinse and repeat a second time to complete the wizard mode.

thanks dude. Maybe I should try that. Definitely didnt do wizard mode yet on that table. I actually like the look and sound of the table. I dont play it much since I am clueless on it. I will read the link. Cheers.

PS: Is the mission hole below the robot, (the little blue robot ones?) ??

I gotta tell ya it use to be one of the hardest tables to get all 10 medals before ZP2. Really... I did it on PBFX2, although you didn't have to collect all 10 because you just needed to beat 10 of your friend's score. Well I didn't have any friends on Xbox yet at the time, so I did it the normal way. It was a pain. LOL

Yes, you have to hit all the alien drop targets until they are completely gone (I think the outer left and right ones might have to be hit 2 times or 3) then you can shoot it into the hole in the middle.

Yes! Technically, there are three holes behind the five drop target. The center hole is the mission hole, which is covered by 3 light blue drop targets (all three need to be down).

The other two holes are behind the two dark blue drop targets, that require three hits before they go down. You don't need to knock those down to start up a mission.
