  • Camera views in ZP2 vs. Marvel Pinball

    Hi everyone,

New poster here even though I check these forums occasionally. The table guides that ShoryukenToTheChin posted have really helped understand all of the different tables, especially for understanding some of the random missions.

Anyhow- is it just my imagination or did the ball speeds for ZP2 go up vs. the original marvel pinball (PS3 user)? I've found that in ZP2, view 6 matches what I used to use the closest, but on some of the tables the ball speed feels so much faster it's easier to miss the ramp you're going for etc. I switched to view 5, which has a better overhead table view, but I'm curious if I'm crazy, just missed the memo, and also what people use.

It's not just you. Most of the tables got a physics update and that can change the ball's speed. Personally, I found the ball speed on some of the ZP1 tables (Earth Defense, Excalibur) slower on ZP2.

Thanks m8 glad the Guides have helped you out, I should have the other Guides - Civil War, Shaman, El Dorado, V12, Ninja Gaiden Sigma II, Earth Defence and Excalibur available soonish.

Regarding ZP2, yeh they updated all the Tables so the Ball would react differently due to the new physics but once you get used to it.. you will find it was for the overall best of the Tables themselves. I tend to play most tables in view 1W.

I play on view 4 but on a few tables I use 1w. One table that is too fast is Shaman. The ball bounces often like no other table.

I don't know if the views are the same as on FX 2 but there I always play with either view 5 or 7. In view 5 the camera never moves off the flipper so that works really well for a fast table e.g. Wolverine when the ball zips back from a hard orbit or a ricochet etc. View 7 keeps a steady pan over the whole length of the table and don't move off the flipper too much... mostly when the ball is high up on the table. I prefer view 7 on tables that has a lot happening at the top e.g. X-men or where top flipper shots plays a big part on the table e.g. Tesla. I personally find, the less camera movement you have, the more you can concentrate on the ball movement especially when the ball moves fast. Just for completeness sake; the view I use for multiball is 1W as that gives you the closest view on the flippers while still having a good view of the table.

They are completely different. ZP2 shuffled the camera angles around for some reason.

Now, Marvel Pinball for the PS3 had similar camera angles as PFX2.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, much appreciated!

I used to love View 6 from the MP, tried view 6 in ZP2 but it's just too fast imho unless you really know the tables well & currently just using 5 since the view of the flippers is better.. I think I'll try out 1 or 1W more just to see how that works, based on the feedback.
