  • Question for Staff about exclusives

I've noticed that the original four Zen Pinball tables are now on X-box PF2? Had these been exclusive to Sony at one point? And if so and they're not any more will be ever see the Xbox exclusives on ZP2? I've been debating getting the rest of those on my 360 but would wait if they're coming to PS3/Vita where all my other tables are.
    Thanks

According to Solitude, only the FX2 Core Pack is possible. The 6 FX1 tables and Ms. Splosion Man are not possible. For Ms. Splosion Man, it's because the title is a Microsoft property, while the FX1 tables were designed on an old engine that's not compatible with Zen Pinball 2.

Knowing now that they're capable of porting those particular tables then what I'm wondering is will there come a time when they will legally be able to port them to Zen 2, and if so how far off might that be?
Barbie if you know could you reply here when you get the chance. I'm really tempted to get them for my 360 but since I have all the other tables on Sony and my main drive for playing is Pro Score ranking, Id much rather wait if they're on their way sometime soon.
      Thanks

PS- I can't wait for the Walking Dead table. That's gonna rock!

Which tables exactly are you referring to? Solitude said in another post that Shogun pointed out:

"It's extremely unlikely that any of the early PFX1 tables will make it to ZP2. They were scripted in a way that's not compatible with our new engine and would basically have to be completely rebuilt. The tables in question are: Agents, Extreme, Speed Machine, Buccaneer, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Nightmare Mansion. It's not just ZP2 - it's also extremely unlikely that these tables will appear in any future titles of ours on any platform, including Microsoft's."

Also, I've not heard of any Walking Dead table... news to me! haha!

How could they not be compatable? Does he mean scripted by coding? FX2 is the same game as Zen pinball isn't it.

Well That's 6 tables I might have to deal with not having being a PS3 owner. We still would like to know if the core pack for FX2 will come to PS3 and other platforms. I for one would love Rome, Bio lab, Secrets of the deep and Pasha.

The forums have been ghost towns with no real news on anything.

From what I understand, they are quite different-- Sony's set up is completely different from Microsoft's.

They are very different. The difference between PFX1 and ZP1 is astronomical from what Solitude has said in the past. Street Fighter 2, Earth Defense and Excalibur on ZP1 aren't direct ports from the PFX1 version. The ZP1 versions were completely recoded by a different team. This will explain why Street Fighter 2 plays differently from between the ZP2 and PFX2 versions. The PFX2 version was upgraded from the PFX1 version, while the ZP2 version was upgraded from the ZP1 version. This will explain why the PFX2 version of Street Fighter 2 has some really wonky ball physics compared to the Zen Pinball 2 version.

Thanks for the clarification. It's too bad though. I think Zen could do well having all tables available for all platforms

I was asking about the four that include Rome and Pasha.
Oh, and just because y'all aren't working on a Walking Dead table yet doesn't mean I can't be excited for it. I can't wait for the Game of Thrones table either.

I know we're all enamored with Star Wars right now but is there still any consideration of bringing the PFX2 Core Pack to Zen2?

I would really love to see Rome on the PS3!

Same here. I would trade all 10 Star Wars tables, Dr Strange and whatever the 12th mystery table is just to get those 4 PFX2 tables.

Well I don't know if I would go that far but I'd sure love to see that table pack on PS3.

I want those Xbox tables too, but...trade all the new ones just for them? HECK NO!
