At first using the operators menu felt like cheating. However, after figuring out that I am never going to be one of these great players I started lowering the difficulty on some of the games and was finally able to start completing missions and discovering everything all the tables have to offer. I'm sure I could have played for years on the pre-set levels and never saw Hyperspace mode on the ESB table, and it's not to be missed. I also discovered that by lowering the difficulty you start to learn what you need to do on each table to complete missions. I find my scores have improved on the pre-set levels because I no longer have to glance up at the Dot Matrix display to figure out what I am supposed to be doing, and that was causing me to lose a lot of balls.
So if you are like me and don't like "cheating" consider the operators menu to be "training". And really, why get the tables if you can't see all the cool stuff they do..

I've never seen the Operator's Menu as cheating. I see it as an options menu like in other games. The only difference is that it's in the style of a real pinball machine Operator's Menu.
Now if the OM still allowed you to obtain trophies and/or post your scores on the leader boards, then I would consider it as cheating.

Not to mention, for those that just want a challenge. You can make the table extremely hard through the OM as well.
First make it easy, learn how it all works so you know what you are doing.
Then make it difficult, and practice until you are good.
Finally you play on factory default and Hogwarts releases a graduate.
I have managed to reset the local scores of my tables but when I exit the game and I come back later, they are still there. A similar thing happens with the Stats data, which I can not reset despite following the route route Operator's Menu / Utilities / Clear Stats. I don't know what I have done wrong.

Thanks again for your help!
It's most likely the game save. After resetting the stats, just play a quick game (you can just tilt it). This way the game will do an auto-save and that should do the trick.
So great to know you can adjust the flippers.
Any suggestions wich is the best for playing. Normal settings make it impossible for me to do a light shot for something.
Hey Shogun. Is there a way to get rid of the black box that shows up when you're approaching your high score? I like to keep the DMD on the bottom right for easy reading but that black box can really get in the way, especially for force backs.

In the options (main menu), there is a toggle for those notifications.

Shogun00 got any suggestions?

Lowering the number will give you a faster flipper response time (personally I only go down one setting for both upper and lower flippers) and there are a few tables you can not adjust Shamen and Earth Defence come to mind. On my TV I do this for all my tables to reduce lag because we do not have a game mode built in.
I wa an operator in 1981 to about 98. Do you new folks know what a Data East pinballs story about the sticker on it that said TYFFASI flipper? I know the older operators will know this.
