Street Fighter 2 question (those 2 arrows)

What do those two arrows below the 'S' and 'F' lights (above the two rollovers) represent?

In the Operator's Menu Light Test they were labeled at "drop_0" and "drop_1".

The arrows help to see where the ball is going if you shoot on the right orbit :
- if the arrow which indicates the down is lit, the ball will go in the "S" lane and in the bumpers
- if the arrow which indicates the left is lit, the ball will go all around the orbit.
