  • Disappointing 3D

Hello everybody, I've bought both Zen Pinball 2 (for its 3D) & Pinball FX 2 (for 1080p) + all the tables on PS2 & 360 each time there was a release.
But two tables on PS2 have a very disappointing 3D: "The Blade" & "StarWars V: Empire Strikes back" become almost flat as soon as the ball is launched. I mentionned it a few months ago (talking about the Blade) in another thread, and today I'd like to ask the developpers if it would be easy to fix (a parallax value to change ?) and if they intend to have look at it.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

Not sure if there are plans to adjust those but I can definitely send this thread to the team. Thanks for the suggestion!

I signed up at the forums just for this reason. I only play in 3d, and I love it. Great work to the entire Zen team for such great 3d pinball entertainment. But there is only one table that does not feel 3d when activated and that is Empire Strikes Back. I really hate to say it but this table is better in 2D. It lacks depth. Definitely feels flattened in 3D, not believable. I really hope this can be adjusted Cause it is one of my favourite tables. Please Zen look into this and make it as good as the rest of the tables.

Ok, so I played "Empire" again in 3D. Here are some of the feelings I have.

        1. DMD when placed at bottom feels like its going through the table. Best placed at centre top, feels like its the right depth there.
        2. Table looks stubby in 3d. To get the table to feel like its the right length I have to move back another 3 feet on a 24" monitor. All other tables are perfect at my regular sitting distance (about 2-2.5 feet away).

Just a couple of notes to help if they decide to look into this.

Must chime in to agree with this. The 3D is generally GREAT and adds so much to the experience! However, on Blade and Empire, it is really the same experience with or without 3D enabled. You can even tell that the 3D isn't well incorporated by looking at the screen without the glasses on. The tables with great 3D look severely doubled w/o glasses. Blade and Empire look almost the same. Almost no doubling that you would expect to see w/o glasses. I hope they fix this with a future update.
