I think it would be fair for Zen to charge a little for the PS4 due to them having to change some coding and touch up even more things on the table to add more graphics and "realism" than it already has. A small discount would be nice for all those who have all the tables bought on the previous platforms.
I don't blame Solitude for mentioning anything that they haven't fully worked out yet. It's a lot to be discussed in their meetings and with the new consoles on the horizons, things are going to get interesting at the least. I just hope ZP2 isn't too far from launch. Like sometime in between the launch and 2nd quarter 2014.

A number of us, like me, have purchased all or a majority of the tables twice, on two different platforms. Having purchased all the Zen Pinball tables twice I'm personally going to be fairly reluctant to buy them a third time unless the discount is very hefty. More likely I would just buy new tables that are designed after the PS4 releases and not repurchase the old ones yet again.

In march, I saw a post on Gameblog (french video games siteweb) and Zen Studios was on their official list of studios working on PS4. Then, I ask from some infos on the general part of the forum and the answer was "too early".

I think the most likely outcome is a "Cross-discount" sort of thing where you still have to buy tables you owned on PS3/Vita for ZP2/MP/SWP but you get a discount on them. However, the discount would only work one way, so tables you bought for PS4 wouldn't trigger a discount on PS3/Vita.
We wouldn't launch ZP2 without at least that, unless technical difficulties got in the way. Each game we add that has this kind of cross-functionality increases the complexity of the setup exponentially, since they all have to be linked to one another (which is why the discount would only be one way).
But until we can confirm an actual game and actual functionality, nothing's for sure.

Looking Ahead To The PS4
With the release of the PS4 only a few months away I'm wondering what will happen with Zen Pinball 2.
Will the existing tables be upgraded for the PS4? Or will they still play as they are in some kind of emulation mode? Is there a clear plan in place or is everything up in the air?Tags: None
