  • Pro Score question + some notes

I haven't seen anything recently about the Pro Score on ZP2. I was trying to explain it to a friend last night but then realized that I didn't grasp it fully.

First off, major improvement over Super Score on PBFX2 - which just adds up all your high scores I believe. Pro Score rank value per table is based on a curve of your % against others who have played that particular table. Higher values are given if more people played that table (i.e. the 10th highest score out of 500 people for a newly released table will yield a lower value than the 10th best score out of 10,000 people...) So, it does a much better job of showing one's skill overall compared to the old Super Score.

I thought there was a max value of 1000 points per table but noticed last night that someone has over 26,000 points and am confused. I have 19,867 and was in the 15th spot overall late last night. Could the max values please be explained?

Also, I think that many might miss the Pro Score leaderboards all together as it's kind of hidden. You have to go to Scoreboards, then navigate with the right stick to the right a few pages before you see it. It should have it's own icon at the bottom of the screen ready to call up easily for people to see where they rank.

And when it shows your friends Pro Scores, the global rank should be before their score to give perspective instead of just a random number like 15,000 points.

Love the new super league football table and one more random note - if a table has a saved game waiting, it would be ideal if there was some indicator on the thumbnails when we're viewing what table to play that there is a game waiting to be completed. Even implementing just a green dot in the lower left corner of the thumbnail would help. I sometimes forget where I left off or that I have a game from a few weeks ago...

Lastly, Will PBFX adopt the superior Pro Score instead of the Super Score when it gets updated?

You pretty much got it right. Each table gives you a rank score depending on your rank on that table's leaderboard. The more people that own the table, the more likely you will get that perfect 1,000. For example, let's say that there are 10,000 scores posted on the SLF table. The top 10 scores will get a rank score of 1,000 points, while the next ten scores will get 999 points and so on and so forth.

Those ranks scores are then added together to give you your Pro Score. The more tables you own, the more rank scores that are added to your Pro Score. This is why some people have much higher Pro Scores than others. You have a bigger advantage if you bought all of the tables.

Keep in mind, that your rank scores are going to fluctuate, especially if someone beats one of your high scores. This also means that your Pro Score will also fluctuate.

Thanks Shogun. Your contributions here are very helpful.

Though I still don't understand how the max values are going over 21k points for 21 tables (leader currently has over 26,000 points...)

Maybe if certain tables get over "x" amount of players, then over 1000 points can be awarded?

I like your idea of a green dot or another way of reminding there is a saved game on the table menu. As for the pro score goes, before the new soccer table came out on tuesday for PS3 there were 35 tables. If one was in first place his/her pro score would be 35,000. Now there are 43,000 points available because there are 8 different teams. I think top spot now is about 37,000 or more.

Is there a way (on PS3 or PS4) to see your pro score for a given table without actually having to play a game on that table?

Ah, I see! You are talking about the PS4 version (21 tables), while I was thinking of the PS3 version (36 tables). Like s-carnegie said, with the Super League Table one can get up to 8,000 points, if they buy all 8 teams/themes. That would make the highest possible Pro Score at 28,000 for the PS4.

                Whoa, wait just a second...

Ok so when i read this thread i thought for sure something was wrong. There are only 36 tables. There are only 36 overall high score leaderboards, there should only be 36,000 points available for pro score.

Why does the leaderboard for ps3 show someone having 40,571 points for pro score? Super league football SHOULD NOT have 8 different pro score chances. Each team does not have its own leaderboard, so why does each team contribute 1000 possible points to the pro score?

So in other words, in order for us to compete for pro score, we have to buy all 8 teams? And possibly future team releases?

Thats not right. At the very least, we are going to have to spend 24$ for one single table just to be competetive on the pro score leaderboard. Why is there only one shared high score leaderboard for super league football between teams but 8 different opportunities to add to the pro score leaderboard?

BarbieB, this has to be a mistake. I have no problem with the pricing for the tables for the different team themes, but having to buy this table 8 times in order to stay competitive on the pro score leaderboard is not right. Please tell me this is some sort of oversight on Zen Studios end.

Yes, sorry for assuming it would be obvious - talking about PS4 with 21 tables.

If that's true Shogun, about SLF having up to 8 tables available for Pro Score... I have a problem with that. So anyone really serious about being in the top 10 overall like myself, has to purchase all 8 tables to not be at a disadvantage? and there's 8 different leaderboards for SLF? strange.

That's just wrong and I've been nothing but a huge supporter of everything from day one. Maybe just a player's best score from any given table should count towards the Pro Score only. I mean, how many are going to buy more than one team? Only the die hards and that's going to separate the tops of the Pro Score leaders, not fair for others.

I guess I'll have to consider getting more teams. I love the table but 8 X $2.99 is rough if that's the case...

                  Good catch s-carnegie.

I agree phobos and smokey, the pro scoreboards were accurate and true before the SLF table was released. I really hope zen can fix this, as an owner of all tables I dont think I will buy 8 versions of the SLF to be on the pro boards accurately. I was never in the top ten but sat around top 30. Please fix zen to where it was perfect before the new release.
