  • Any tips for newbie?

I like the table ideas, but it seems so often that I just fail through nothing I can do, like I hit the ball, it goes off bumper straight down a side path without even having time to realize it's doing that. Or on bobbafett table where I swear every shot goes into a hole, especially the left bumper which 80% of the time shots straight down the right side hole.

Also do you hit the table the way you want the ball to go, or opposite? like if I want the ball to move more to the right do I hit left on left bumper or right?

      Welcome to the forums!

The best tip is to learn how to control the ball.

Watch this video and you will get the hang of controlling the ball in no time.

Note: The video is from Pinball FX 2, but it's same for Zen Pinball 2 as well.

Thanks for the video Shogun...I'm not a beginner but I just learned about passing the ball from flipper to flipper with a sharp nudge up !

Stick with it and don't let your frustrations hinder the fun of the game. Easier said than done, but I've had some of my best games when I just don't care, or have something I need to do...without the pressure on yourself, or with a lingering distraction you'd be surprised what happens.
I've been to a few competitions (and tanked), but my favorite technique was a guy telling me he doesn't start a ranked game until he has to use the bathroom.

get a feel of where the ball goes if you hit it the ball from the beginning, middle and tip of the flipper.
try and hold the ball with a flipper and then aim.
notice the difference between speeds of the ball with the points of the flipper and aim.
            don't worry about nudging.
