  • Trophies - Does anybody else want to try to get a response from Sony?

    With the PS 4 ZP 2 already being at 88, and the current limit being 98, does anyone else want to join me in asking Sony through twitter why there can't be exceptions made for games such as ZP 2 and TPA with almost endless DLC? Here are a couple of examples that I have sent. Feel free to retweet or send your own. Thanks.

    I think that's why Zen has made some of those trophies bronze so that the points on the trophy can be lower to continue to support trophies. It would be a step backwards for Sony to have trophies capped again. TPA is already suffering from that. The latest tables to come from them don't have trophies attached to them.

        Bingo! Sony's trophy system runs on points and not by a number of trophies. Silver trophies are worth more points than bronze and gold trophies are worth more than silver. I don't know point values are or how many points does each game gets, so I'm going to go with a simple example.

        Let's says that bronze trophies are 1 point, silver are worth 2, and gold are worth 3. The problem with TPA is that each table got two silver trophies and one bronze. That's 5 trophy points per table release, while Zen Pinball 2 only offers two trophies per table and they are usually two bronze or one bronze and one silver. That's only 2-3 trophy points per table release.

          I thought I had read during a Q&A with Shuhei Yoshida that someone had asked if Sony was going to increase the trophy limit for the PS 4, while making reference to Burnout Paradise having 98 trophies, and Yoshida had said no. Of course, for the life of me, I cannot find the article. I did see that Uncharted 3 has 105 trophies. Seeing that The Pinball Arcade hit it's limit already(96 trophies), I thought maybe Zen might be getting close to their limit. But you know what they say about assuming anything, it makes an a** out of "u" and "me" And that this point, the a** is all "me". I apologize about any confusion.

          Rafie is right about the points. I did find this at Giant Bomb (I don't know if the values have been updated since this article was originally posted).

          Trophy Values
          Bronze = 15 points
          Silver = 30 points
          Gold = 90 points
          Platinum = 180 points

          Game Worth
          Blu-ray retail release: 1230 points maximum (some downloadable titles are also applicable)
          Downloadable release: 315 points maximum
          Trophies are an incentive-based system for the completion of various objective in PS3, Vita, and PS4 titles.

          PS-According to the trophy values listed above, TPA has 2,400 points with 64 Silver and 32 bronze.

            Obviously, that doesn't count games with DLC. Apparently, DLC adds more value to the trophy points.

              Sony really has no rhyme or reason when it comes to trophies. Sugery simulator Anniversary edition has 56 trophies. The game is funny though, but 56 is a tad high for this quality of game. That's more than they're giving their own title Infamous first light. They need to acknowledge that some programs such as pinball need an exemption from their scoring system. It's the publishers and developers who have to speak up. No one's going to listen to a PS4 user. Doesn't matter to me I'll buy tables regardless. So Tallyho!

                I guess. Is 2400 points the cap though? Farsight claims that Sony will not allow them to create anymore trophies.

                As it stands now, Zen has 88 trophies - 3 Gold (270), 19 Silver (570), 66 Bronze (990) = 1830 points. If that is the cap, it leaves 570 points left, which in turn is 38 bronze trophies, or 19 more tables with the current 2 trophies per table model. I obviously really don't know.

                  I can't find the source at the moment, but that sounds about right. I remember this from a while back & someone had found the max point number. There have been one or two exceptions to the rule.

                  The issue with farsight & tpa isn't sony's fault really. There was quite an uproar in their fan forum when the last few packs of season two started coming with no trophies. I had found an article where a farsight rep had talked about the trophy cap, and he stated that they would be changing the trophy point allocations on ps4 version in order to not run out of trophies again. However, the ps4 version has, with the exception of 4 trophies, the same point allocations. So unless sony raised the maximum point allocation, tpa on ps4 will run out of available points close to, or at the end of season two, again.

                    How about ingame-challenges besides Trophies?

                    If you ask me, it would be nice if Zen would add ingame Missions, Challenges whatever you
                    may call them. See Diablo 3 for example.

                    Could be a nice motivation and they can seperate this from all Sony- Restrictions regarding
                    Trophies.

                      That is an interesting suggestion. Maybe something for ZP 3?

                        It's too late now for Season One, but it would have been nice if TPA had used all bronze if they wanted to have 3 trophies per table. FarSight could still do it for Season 2 since they have to wait 30 days after the XBOX One release in order to release it on the PS 4. And at the rate it's going, it won't be until 2015. If they did that, then maybe they could provide a few more trophies for Season 3 or 4.
