PS4 'initialisation'?

Hi all,

When I start the game on my PS4 there are two annoyances, and I'll cover them both here:

1. I'm always asked about 3D, always. I have said no a lot of times, a lot, but I'm still asked every time. Surely I can't be the only one to find this annoying? The options in the game are set to 3D off, but I'm still asked; is this a bug?

2. When the game starts all the table icons start moving about, changing from monochrome to coloured, and sometimes I hear multiple audio clips (this seemed to happen more in the past, not even sure if I heard it for a while); this goes on for a good few seconds. So is this a bug, and should I delete and reinstall? I have all tables by the way.

There's definitely something going on, since I'm not experiencing either or of those problems.

Try restoring your licenses, this also helps speed up a few things from my experience.

Settings >> PSN >> Restore Licenses

I think that helped a bit, thanks. I'll expound:

The 3D thing is odd. I start the game and a message says '3D Signal Detected' (or close to that) and then I get to choose yes or no, and I say no. I have a Sony Bravia - I did my research on input lag here http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/input-lag and got a good TV last time I bought one. Perhaps I can find some TV setting to deal with this; I'll look into it and maybe call Sony's TV peeps.

The icon thing may be better now I have restored 76 licences. Previously, when I started the game, there were not a lot of icons and they were monochrome; over a number of seconds, more appeared making the grid bigger, and at the same time they all jiggled about whilst becoming colourful. Now I've restored the licences they are all there at the start, and all that happens is the jiggling and changing to colour. The one thing I can think of is multiple accounts: on the PS3 I used a different account to purchase tables, when the PS4 came along, with paid online, I changed names with a new account. I have logged on to the PS4 with the old account to take advantage of Zen's pleasant cross-buy gift to download all the old account purchases, but now I buy all the tables with the new account. Perhaps this is the issue?

Any help from anyone would be welcome. Although I can play the game and all is well, all is also damn annoying.

I don't have a solution but are experiencing the same thing. I buy all my stuff on my US account, and use the EU account for playing.

Zen Pinball tables usually pops up as you describe and it takes some seconds for them all to be in the "right" order, but sometimes they're all fine immediately when the menu pops up.

Sometimes when I start the PS4 and go straight to the Zen Pinball "icon" (or any other game) it has a lock symbol. When I try to launch the game it tells me I don't have the "rights" or whatever to use the game on that account. Wait for a few sec, and then it's all ok.

The funny thing is that the other day when PSN was down, I didn't have an issue starting stuff immediately after starting the console (not from standy either).


I guess I'll have to ask Sony about it some day when I have time but last time I had issues with my US account I was in a queue forever on their chat :P

It seems like something is looping wrong. There is only 42 tables on the PS4, but the PS3/Vita version has 43. Perhaps some of the information is getting criss-crossed because of the multiple accounts.

Well, the best thing to do is wait. A rep will come by and will at least comment on it.

Right now, a major game convention is occurring in the US (PAX Prime) and the Zen reps are attending that. Not to mention, it's a holiday weekend (Labor Day is on Monday). You may not see a response until next Tuesday.

Fair enough; I'll try to check back sometime next week then. Perhaps I'll try the full delete in the mean time and just download the new account (or old) tables to see if there's any difference. Cheers.

Thanks for the reply; I'll sit tight. As I said previously: the good news is I can play all the tables. The issue is simply one of annoyance, so it's not the end of the world.

I may fire up the PS3 and see what that other table might be too
