ZP2 PS4 Stats and Crash Issues

  • ZP2 PS4 Stats and Crash Issues

    I have browsed around and didn't see these issues mentioned so I thought I would bring them to your attention.

    I'm in the US and for months now have had a problem with the stats taking forever to calculate as well as the game crashing my PS4 whenever I exit ZP2.

    After playing a table it takes at least 2 or more minutes for the stats to calculate (I haven't actually timed it, I usually just give up) and the same goes for loading the scores of friends. This happens with every table, and I own the majority of the tables released.

    Whenever I quit the game/close the application my PS4 freezes and crashes, restarting itself and prompting me to submit a crash report to Sony. I do every time.

    Am I the only one having these issues and are they addressed anywhere on the forums that I didn't see?

    I love ZP2, but these issues are making it unplayable.

    I don't think I've seen anyone else report this before - very strange. First off, have you tried contacting Sony support? It's not necessary, I just don't want to repeat any troubleshooting steps they may have already walked you through. If not - you might try reinstalling the game and see if that helps at all. If that doesn't help, please let me know which tables you're experiencing this issue with, and include your PSN name. Thanks!

      An issue that I wanted to bring to your attention closely matches this discussion, so I will post it here.
      Now as a precursor: this was last week, and I know that the PSN is acting slow due to holiday traffic and new users, etc. But when launching Zen Pinball on my ps4, it took almost 2 min to authenticate each table that I had purchased. I have only seen it act this slow on a few occasions, in other words, last night it was fine, but I wanted to just let you know that this happened. I have a feeling this next statement is 1000 times easier to ask then to execute but, it sure would be nice if the table purchase authentication didn't rely on PSN infrastructure.

        No I have not contacted Sony. I only seem to have issues with ZP2. I even experience a long delay when trying to access new demo tables such as the new Aliens tables. It happens with every table I own and I own 35 of them. This is on the PS4 that I have the problem.

        I've tried putting the PS4 on a DMZ and the problem still occurs so I'm sure it's not my network. I guess I'll try deleting and reinstalling the game.

          Reinstalling Didn't Help

          I tried reinstalling the game and it made no difference. I also tried restoring the licenses and the problem persists. I also have a VITA and using the same account there is no problem, it's just on the PS4.

          It takes exactly 120 seconds before the score calculates after playing a table, so it seems pretty clear that something has to time out at 120 seconds before it's allowed to calculate/display the score. Likewise when loading All-Time high scores as one toggles through the tables on the main menu, or viewing any of the scoreboards when selecting the scoreboards menu option within a table. The Pro Scores, Team Score and Local Highscores all load immediately. It's the All-Time and Challenge that take two minutes just like when calculating the score after playing a table.
