  • VR Questions for Zen Developers

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or under PBFX VR, but I decided on here.
I was wondering now that it's been released if there might be some answers as to whether PBFX2 will be the only game to use PSVR or if there's any chance Zen Penball 2 might get a 3D mode that just plays the game as is but allows us to use the headset to play in 3D?
For me that would be even better, although I'll admit I haven't played PBFX2 VR yet. I was super stoked to get it but after seeing that the only tables available were ones Ive pretty much played out already I couldn't see rebuying them again, especially since none were particular favorites of mine.

Are we near the point when new tables will come out on VR at the same time as the standard versions? I don't know if anyone who makes these kinds of decisions would ever see this, but if I could make a suggestion, it would be to work on bringing the new tables to VR before reworking old ones. I'd think it would increase sales as it would attract customers like me who really want VR Pinball but don't necessarily want tables we've already sunk countless hours into.

As far as adding 3D VR support to ZP2, I realize it would take work and it's something I'd happily pay for as an add on mode. I certainly would be much happier buying that to replay old and future tables then have to buy them all again in FX2. I think for ZP2 vets, having everything together under one roof so to speak would be the far preferable choice and doing so could equal more money for you guys, especially considering those who would buy both the full VR tables and a 3D add on for ZP2.
    My two cents
    Thanks!

Sorry, no plans to add VR support to ZP2, since the work has already been done in PFX2 VR for PSVR. We can't just "add VR" to a game, it doesn't really work that way. It takes a lot of time and effort to create these tables in VR and make them look the way they do.

So using the Headset to play in 3D like you'd see if you were playing on a 3D TV something that will be possible? Am I understanding that right? I was hoping it'd be just a matter of getting the PSVR recognized as a 3D TV to play the 3D mode that was already part of the game but I know nothing about how any of that works like you do.
      Thanks!

Currently the psvr does not play 3D games or 3D movies - it is rumored that it might be possible in a future update but currently it can only display non-vr games and movies in 2D cinematic mode. It's fairly cool - the size of the "screen" simulates sitting in movie theater.

As far as zen re-releasing their existing library of games for VR - yes please - ALL of them.
        - it is a whole new way to experience the table itself - absolutely worth a re-purchase.
It would be great if new tables were released in both VR and "normal" with back catalog releases between.

So, would it be as "simple" as whenever or if the PSVR becomes capable of playing 3D video that then you could use the headset to play the 3D TV mode of ZP2 or would Zen have to do something as well?
