At the end of the day Zen Studios are a small game development company, they're not an in-house game developer for a massive publisher like Infinity Ward and Treyarch are to Activision, DICE is to EA, Eden Games is to Atari and Polyphony Digital is to Sony with massive amounts of money and resources thrown at them to make concrete deadlines for games or DLC releases. I'd pretty much bet my left nut that Zen themselves would rather have had the new Zen Pinball table out in September so they could see the financial return on it as soon as possible but it's obvious that with their current workload that scenario wasn't possible.
As for Zen favouring Xbox or Android over PlayStation, well I personally would rather Zen forgot about the lesser console completely and left Android to whatever purpose it was made for (it's certainly not gaming) and concentrated 100% on Zen and Marvel Pinball for the PS3 but there's two factors in why this won't happen.
1. Xbox and Android make Zen Studios a fair bit of money and it's financially good to cater to as many platforms as possible unless they become....
2. One of Sony's in-house developers, which Zen are not and that's reason two. Being one would guarantee cash coming their way which in turn brings deadlines that must be met, which can mean rushed games and DLC which usually means more quantity and less quality.
If it means waiting a month or two extra to get the usual Zen Studios quality product then I'm happy with that. Look what happened when Sony rushed Polyphony Digital for Gran Turismo 5's release, we got an unfinished game which a year down the line is still getting patched and still feels unfinished, obviously due to the size of ZP compared to GT5 it would be a lot less extreme but I'd rather have a table that's late and perfect than a table that's rushed and filled with bugs and glitches.

They are going to be merged as well, aren't they? That shouldn't take much.Leave a comment:

I just wonder how the upgrade will be working (technically). Will an update be made available for either Zen or Marvel pinball? Then will it merge the other game tables if any? Or should we download ZP2 and all the tables? Ad what about trophies. Is Sony willing to accept a trophy merge of two different games? And what about Marvel? Will they be fine about losing their brand in one of the two games?
We are always impatient, but this process is more complicated than what we might think!!Leave a comment:

If ZP 2 gets a lot less ball spin I might actually enjoy both platforms equally.Leave a comment:

I mean, I am just wondering if being a new release will have some improvements over PFX2 as well.. In such case is PFX2 going to be updated as well or ZP2 will be just PFX2 with a different name?Leave a comment:

From Zen on FaceBook:
i.e. have some patience.
And maybe remember that Zen Pinball was a considerably better product than Pinball FX for quite some time. 360 owners were quite jealous. Clearly, Zen are overlapping their product development cycles between platforms. So you can expect to see marked improvements for Zen Pinball 2.Leave a comment:

... there is much in store for PS3. As soon as we can get the new Zen Pinball system out early next year you can expect a similar promo for everyone on PSN. Just stay with us and it will happen.

Damn your papering over the cracks faster than I can type. Looking forward to the possibility of a FREE Rocky & Bullwinkle table.Leave a comment:

There is a ton happening for everything PlayStation including a new pinball platform that will allow us to do things like we do over on Xbox. It's all about being flexible, and the current version of Zen Pinball restrains us from being able to do certain things, like give a table away for free. This will all change!
Thank you guys for your patience. It's not a matter of favoring one console over another. Each release we do seems to leap frog the last, and I would imagine the new Zen Pinball system will have features that Pinball FX2 will be missing.
Hope you guys can hang in there with us while we work to get this out to you.
Thanks for your understanding.Leave a comment:
