  • Way to FAIL, Zen.

I have been getting a lot of ZP not registering my final ball going down the drain. It locks up, and won't even let me tilt the table to finish the game (trying to get game over). It just sticks there and does nothing. This is the 6th time this has happened to me (I even saved the game, and if I load it, it stays buggy). I bested my previous score by 2.5x the previous record when it froze.

I was so excited for ZP2. I was going to buy Avengers Chronicles on day one. But now I think I may have to reconsider... I won't buy glitchy software on general principle (didn't support fallout because of this). I'm really sick of this bull$hit.

Hey Zen Studios, learn to properly bug test before you release a product. Becuase I have had the SAME bug crop up MANY times. I know I can't be the only one either...

What table or tables has this happened to you on?

This latest one happened on paranormal. However, I've had it happen on Epic Quest and Sorcerer's Lair as well.

Zen Pinball 2 should fix these issues, and it's free so you can test it out and see if you like it without spending any money. Also, there will be demos for all tables on ZP2, so you can try before you buy. Sorry about these issues, hopefully the update will change your mind.

With all due respect, Zen 1 shouldn't have had them to begin with. This isn't a once in a lifetime glitch we're talking about here. This is a game-breaking bug. The fact that Zen never patched the tables in the first game speaks volumes about your actual level of support for the community.

While I appreciate that ZP2 is free, demos are not indicative of final products... I am very disappointed with you guys right now.

            That's fine, I won't argue with you.

Let me know how you like ZP2 when it comes out

              ChunderCat,

Don't be too disappointed, I agree with you 100% on the bugs ordeal. But Zen Pinball 2 will most likely fix this problem. The newer engine is much more polished than the old one. Plus, its no cost to you.

From your description, it sounds like a hard drive bug than a ZP bug. I have never experience this bug that you are experiencing on ZP1. However, I did experience a bug in the game, which prevented me from uploading my scores onto the leader boards if I played the game offline. It turned out to be some broken code in my hard drive.

Take your PS3 into safe mode and select "restore file system" (option 3). This will fix any broken code that's in your hard drive and it should fix the problem you're experiencing with ZP1.

I guess I should count my lucky stars that I have never experienced any of these bugs others have encountered!

Shogun, you really have very insightful tips on not just the games, but problems with bugs and such. Maybe you should move out to Cali with Barbie and get a job with Zen!

I can't remember a single ZP freeze on my PS3 and I've been playing three hours a week ever since the original four levels came out. I'm hammering Epic Quest at the moment with no bugs evident. Sorry this doesn't help in your case - I'm just saying this is not a general problem. Losing a high score would hurt.

My girlfriend and I typically play about 1 to 3 hours a day (no joke, she loves it too). I think it has something to do with deathsaves. Seems like every time it has happened, I performed a deathsave that game. Thanks for the consolation btw lol.

Yeah, I play Zen Pinball frequently without a single bug, so I'm thinking Shogun may have a point about the issue possibly being more local. I hope it gets worked out for you!
