  • Laptop/Steam/FX3 settings help

    Hi guys,
Im wondering if there is anyone who wouldn't mind walking me through setting up my latop or steam or FX3 to get the best graphics for the game.
My laptop was fine/good enough with fx2, but im now noticing jerky graphics with fx3. Im sure the issues are on my end, but i have no idea what i would need to change to improve the quality (if its even possible to improve).

If you are able to help let me know what info you need.

    Thanks

What specification is your laptop? (CPU/GPU).
Disabling reflections, shadows and anti-aliasing should improve your frame rate. Reducing resolution will also help.

I tried to start a performance feedback thread but for reasons unknown it has not passed moderation
Likewise I have noticed a severe drop in performance and can only assume various post-processing effects are hitting the GPU hard.

    On an i5 6200u / HD520 / 8gb RAM
FX2 runs close to 60fps at 3200x1800 with reflections enabled.
FX3 runs well below 60fps at 1280x720 with reflections and shadows disabled.

I'm sure over time there will be optimisation, but in terms of render overhead that's 5,760,000 vs 921,600 pixels with inferior performance to boot. Additional graphic settings could help the game run on a wider range of hardware

      Hey, thanks

I ended up upgrading my driver (which didnt change much), then I reduced the FX3 resolution settings. The default was at highest resolution, and after going through all the settings the game only worked smoothly when set to the lowest resolution. I also needed to disable reflections, shadow and AA. Its now playable but still not as smooth as FX2.
